Ike Jacket pattern question

I am palnning on making myself an Ike jacket inthe next few days here & I think I have a pretty good idea on how to go about it. The only issue that I have is what the front of the jacket is supposed to look like in regards to how to cut the pieces of cloth to make the front halves. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hi Charlie,
what "type" of Ike jacket are you making? The photos that John posted are not of an "issued" Ike, but of a private-made officer's Ike. There are a few versions of the jacket before it became standardized and then it changed again after the war. There are even versions of guys cutting down their service coats to look like an Ike jacket. There are some key differences, e.g. buttons, shape/cut of front of coat, etc.

Patton's exposed button Ike looks much like a cut down service jacket, for example. (Yes, I know he wore the more common type as well).
