it is very easy for people to dismiss very good looking fellas like Flynn as merely "pretty boys" ... but i think Mr. Flynn certainly proved his worth throughout his varied career!

Mr, Flynn will always be in! ;)

Oh I know what you mean about actors/actresses having talent looked over because of their looks. I'm a huge Vera Ellen fan, and sadly, she never really got that recognition so she's not as well known as many of the other popular actresses. And I really don't know why. She had the looks, she could dance very well, and she could act. Only thing she really couldn't do is sing.. The good thing is, the ones who do remember her, have pretty much become life fans from what I've read on the net so far.:eusa_clap

Oh, I love Vera Ellen!! She always seemed so genuinely nice in her films! And she was an excellent dancer, which more than made up for any problems she had with singing. You can't be good at everything, but she was certainly good at a lot more things than most people, myself definitely included! :)

I'm curious to know if I look like a celebrity from the Golden Era. I'm not any good at this type of thing, but the rest of you guys and gals are good at picking out matches. So what do you think, do I look like anyone?

My goodness gracious, Christy. There have got to be celebrities wishing they looked like you! ;)

Wow, thank you, that's a very kind compliment!

If I have to pick one as a match, it would be Susan Hayward.

She's lovely, unfortunately I haven't seen her in anything. What film of hers would you suggest?

You must see I Want to Live! (1958) and I'll Cry Tomorrow (1955). Brilliant in both!

Do I look like anybody?

My aunt said I have deep-set eyes similar to Harlow, and I once got Elizabeth Montgomery.

Ooh, thanks for the suggestions, I'll have to check them out! Like I said, I'm not very good at matching people, but I think you're stunning! I think your lip shape is really pretty. You kind of remind me of the classic barbie in the black and white striped swimsuit but with prettier eyes.

I don't think either one of us look like a celebrity. We picked NicknNora because when we're together we act a lot like these movie characters portrayed by Powell and Loy. We don't look like them at all. I don't have any photos of us to post except this one. You can't really tell much about us in this photo and we aren't even wearing vintage.lol

I found more photos! The first photo is not one of Nick's favorites because when I moved closer to him for the photo I ended up sitting in the highest spot in the booth which makes him look short. lol

I'm adding this photo of me because I don't like this one (my face looks fat in this one lol). I figure it's only fair that I add one of me that I don't like to make up for the one I posted that he doesn't like. lol

How about Veronica Lake (different hair color but similar features). If you parted you hair on the other side you'd be real close.

I buy the Elizabeth Montgomery.
But you have to come over and wiggle your nose for me to be sure.

I used the same picture in the "Show us your hairdo's" thread, and the consensus, too, was 1959 Barbie. :)

I think you're a stunner too, Christy - A brunette Veronica Lake, for sure!
