If you could live/move anywhere right now, where would it be? Why?

Hi

I like the forest. I've lived in North Alabama and would move back there. I also like Missouri, Tennessee, and North Mississippi, basically anywhere that there's trees, and not huge amounts of snow.

No doubt in my mind. Here:

Smack in the Chianti Mountains. Halfway between Sienna and Firenze.

Ok, I think I'm going to have to rethink my choices and add this place. Wow!

Away from people.

I've considered Montana and Wyoming for their beautiful country and resources, as well as their conspicuous lack of population. If I had the money to move, I would have the money to occassionally vacation in Chicago and Seattle. Otherwise, give me the open country, a rifle and some p&q.

I would love to return home to the mountains and lakes of the Adirondacks. Or actually, anyplace that has mountains and lakes and snow in the winter. Deep snow.

I would like it to be zone 4 (unlike my parents zone 3 where everything dies of cold). I ideally want 50 acres if we stay where the land is cheap- woodland and pasture/ field, with it's own supply of water- a spring or a stream. I'd move back up north in a heartbeat, but there are no jobs and the taxes are getting ridiculous in this state. The taxes wouldn't be bad if there were jobs, but there aren't any.

I am strongly considering moving to Canada: Ontario, Nova Scotia, or PEI.

Near the sea: Odessa, Ukraine

The first so I could visit MoMA every week, and the second for its history and architecture.

Beautiful little coastal town across the bay from San Francisco. It's got a natural foods store and community minded people, and it's across the bridge from San Francisco. That's all I need.

Key West. I know, I know but it is a unique village with beautiful blue water and an interesting "I don't care what you think" attidude. I could do without the hurricanes though. I also could see me and my wife retiring to Charleston, SC. Another town steeped in history and culture.

Kaneohe, Oahu-best beach, surf, and wahinies, bro. (ex-surfer bum) :D

Not sure how I could be so near sighted. Maybe it is just because I have been to San Diego (good food too).

I revise my choice now.

On the coast of southern Delaware - I could be close to the sea and Delaware Bay (so 1- natural environment that better reflects my interests, 2- I could get into maritime stuff easier due to 1, 3- a more socially 'libertarian' outlook than where I'm at now, and 4- it is very relaxing there).

Remember what Dorothy said in "The Wizard of Oz"? "There's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home ... "

I've visited a lot of very wonderful places around the US, but If I'm totally honest, I can't see myself living anywhere but where I do right now. My family has been within a 20 mile radius of where I live since the 1760's. This is home to me. The bones of my ancestors are buried here. I love it here.

Though I'm from So. Cal, right now here in Maine, I am where I want to live. Sure it's not a perfect world here, but a lot better than California (which my friends still living in Cali CANNOT understand why I would move here) Lot less crowded, natural lakes, ocean no colder than So. Cali beaches in summer, woods nearby. Only 4 freeways, 2 shopping malls, and oddball characters you don't have to worry about killing you. I was born and raised in California, but Maine is home.

I would move to Rotorua, New Zealand. Even though its a bit smelly at first because of the sulphur, you get use to the pretty quickly. I love the history of Rotorua and the vibe in that city is awsome!
