To be honest, I'm not keen on the epaulets, pockets or collar. Of their own patterns, I prefer their Dakota.

Thuggee - not what I expected when worn. I thought it was a short, fitted half-belt a la 1930's jackets. Yours looks nice and heavy.

Yes it's heavy the leathers very soft and looks great my photo doesnt do it justice at all I expect as this ages with wear it's going to look amazing, I've only recently acquired this so hasn't been worn much yet, I was after a leather peacoat style jacket this one ticks all the boxes for me being a bit different at the same time don't expect I'll bump into anyone wearing the same jacket anytime soon, it will well and truly outlast me putting aside the controversy regarding this company they make a hell of a jacket.

Just my tuppence worth, but maybe better with slit pockets or none at all. Otherwise nice looking jacket, like the colour.
I'm with Otter and Sloan regarding the diagonal pockets at the bottom and would myself prefer either simple welted hand warmer or horizontal cargo pockets, and no chest pocket. Just my personal taste.

I can wear the jacket with the pockets tucked in or out for 2 different looks, not even noticeable to me using the bottom pockets for warming my hands in regard to the flaps.

Problem with that is you're left with an exposed button at the side that can catch and potentially be ripped off or damaged. Each to their own, though SB's fetish for scattering patch pockets on their jackets doesn't do much for me.

Penchant makes it sound like a casual preference. They seemed to slap them, or at least Will did, on every jacket in their initial run out. Actually, I always suspected that this was Will trying to differentiate some of the jackets made using Aero's patterns from the original source.

Luckily, I've never ripped a button off a repro leather jacket ( Aero / SB / Lost Worlds / Eastman ) nor have I ever had one come off / unstitch ( I did break a button in half on a Veste De Rallye - no idea how - and Aero replaced it FOC :) ) Same can't be said for Schott Peacoats .... I've lost three of those buttons.

There's too many pocket flaps on this for me also .... but I think the button theme works really well, and I'm slowly ( very slowly) warming to buttons. When I had my goatskin Dakota I often used the horizontal flapped pockets as handwarmers with the pocket flap tucked in and never really noticed them TBH. It's a good dual look thing.

Nice jacket though ... and I have to agree re. Clayton HH ... it's awesome.
