How to wear fishtail trousers

Hello gents,

I've recently purchased a 3pc suit in Harris Tweed and being new to classic bespoke fish tale riser trousers, I'm unsure about how high to wear them with braces.

Do any of you gents have any tips on how high to wear them?

I think it's a matter of tolerance and depends of cuts, but in general the crotch of pants shouldn't fit tight (pulling upwards) neither sagging.

One you wear them you'll soon know whether they are at the right height: if they are too high they will squash your 'meat and 2 veg' - too low and your thighs will be rubbing together.

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant!

I have also found the need to have MANY inches taken out of my braces to accommodate for the height of the "tails" as we ll as the rise of the pants. You will notice vintage braces in movies, meant to be worn with such pants, that look very different to our modern ones.
