How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

H Bar C with “Earl-Glo” liner. A clean one, free of moth bites. Hope it fits!

Revival Vintage, one of my regular wardrobe suppliers, is currently running an end of season flash sale, so I took it as an opportunity to jump on a few bits I'd been musing, all at half or less than half price. A 40s-cut tweed blazer, a 30s-cut belted tweed semi-Norfolk style jacket, and one of their 40s gaberdine casual jackets which has a sort of blazerly length, two-way patch pockets like an Indy jacket / one of those civilian takes of a flight jacket like the Schott 182SM, and a halfbelt-style back. Should all arrive later this week. Particularly looking forward to the tweeds now we're finally getting weather I can wear a warm blazer in again. Definitely Autumn here in London now: down to a pleasant 14/15 celsius, mizzly damp in the air and overcast. Exactly the weather I prefer. I'll even be able to crack out a felt hat for the first time since April this week. :)

Finally. Finally. I've got a Jeep Coat incoming.

Not vintage, not a repro, a version.

But still, I'm delighted. Because I absolutely adore the style and I'm a massive sucker for a belted jacket.

This has arrived and it's terrific and I'll do some pics later. But it has given me an idea for a thread that might be fun:

High Street versions of things we might otherwise buy expensive repros of

Which I might do when I get a minute, as I feel like I've got some good examples and there might be mileage in it.

Very much so. I love discovering a great high street piece that bsils s vintage look at a lower price.

Have a Flat Head Delraiser on the way, listed my size 40 Flat Head HS005 single rider on ebay since I'm pretty sure someone here will poke fun at me if I suddenly spam a bunch of posts to hit the required amount to sell here.

Just curious - what's the logic of using Ventile as lining?

It’s water resistant and very soft/comfortable. It’s typically used for outerwear in things like high-end Harrington jackets for a lux lightweight water resistant jacket and using it as lining is kind of IH quirky. It does give the jacket a really nice feel, especially slipping your arms in - it’s like a cotton that feels more like silk.

I've handled a few Ventile items, my wife currently wears a Sasta Peski ventile jacket.
I wouldn't call it very soft and comfortable. It's a very very dense and tight weave (that's the whole point of Ventile). Which should make it very durable as a lining.
Very strange choice to use it as a lining, apart from the durability aspect.
But slipping your arms in should be great as it's quite slippery yup.
Cool jacket!
Post some fit pics :)
I'm looking forward to wearing my Pike Brothers N1 when it gets colder.

The Ventile thing made me smile.

I remember a few years ago IH made a 'Ventile' M65 only after people bought it they were all reporting disappointment that it wasn't waterproof at all in the forum. After discussion with 'Haraki' it was said to be a translation issue and this was in fact 'Japanse Ventile' which is not the same thing and doesn't work in any way the same way as 'Ventile' ...apparently.
