How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I have nothing on the way yet but am currently on a mission to find a nylon satin PD jacket with a detachable brown (green could work ) mouton collar I can rob for my Taylor's CMPD.
Prices are often under $50, I've just gotta find the right one.
I have saved searches and watched listings for Blauer, Butwin, and Horace small but am looking for other brands to add to the search.

If all else fails I'll look into sending my jacket somewhere and having a collar made, but this option is most ideal because I can come out dirt cheap and have another winter jacket for work.

I'm trying to cut back with mixed emotions. Lusting after some of the ones I sold a while back, but really trying to not buy any more. I'm such a weirdo. Every time I buy a premium jacket it just sits in the closet and I end up wearing my "beaters" instead. I'm gracefully exiting from the scene, slowly, with some exceptions. There's a hell of a lot one can buy with $700+ that isn't a jacket. At the moment I want a giant model zeppelin to hang from the ceiling. LOL
I absolutely relate to this. I will buy a jacket and love it for days but after that I will hang it in the closet and maybe consider wearing it, but generally my collection just hangs there for me to oggle at for six seconds while I grab my usual one for fear of 'ruining' the others.

I used to be like that but now I just try to wear them all and even do some alterations on some.

Price varies wildly depending on condition, who’s selling it and where it’s listed. In a high end retail setting, a mint one can be $1000 or more. From an uneducated seller on eBay, the same jacket can be $200 or less.

Generally speaking, if you’re lucky to find one in good condition that’s your size, I’d say anywhere in the middle is fair.
Thanks again for the advice. I took a shot on the only one I thought might fit—a 23” chest one. And I couldn’t be happier—It’s a perfect fit. And now begins my addiction to vintage leather…goodbye money.

I had sold my remaining brown jacket last week but I like em. Finalized a transaction on this US Wings Signature Indy Adventurer Jacket. Been casually looking for one in cowhide and of course a XXL (52) Long, kinda hard to come by so I took a chance, although a small one as he accepts returns.

In the mean time here’s the sellers pics.

They said it came from a former motorcycle racer. It’s definitely been worn and used—which suits me—cause that what I intend do with it.

Ive got some Skidmore, Pecard and horse hair brushes en route to give it a nerdy and loving detailing. It’s my first 1950’s leather jacket—so I’m going 100% dork on it.

I rechecked the chest and it’s about 22 7/8”. It’s tough to make out what’s left of the size tag (40? 46?)—not sure what those measurements would make it.

Beautiful!

Looks like 40 to me. This is the size 40 I sold to @torfjord and has roughly the same measurement.

Thanks! And whoa that is gorgeous and newly new…that’s wild. Yea, must be the same size as that one, a 40. Great to know. Mine has what may be a replacement main zipper (gold Conmatic), but still period correct from what I can tell. Thanks for sharing the pic!

I found a blauer police jacket with a suitable removable " mouton " collar for $39 shipped on the bay.

Initially I figured I'll score something cheap just for the collar then maybe use the jacket for work just to get my money's worth and avoid being wasteful , but I think it may prove to be quite a nice practical jacket that will definitely serve me well at work.

Just bought this Coat on the bay, dont know anything about it. Label says:

G. B. Conte wool mill
since 1757 in Schio (Italy)
Pure virgin wool

Brand is evidently "SALCO". Does anyone know anything about the brand or how old the coat might be? Looks 60s to me. Is it a good score? I Paid €80.
