How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

About Bainbridge and CXL. I think everyone is trying to crack the code. How to have that CXL finish but more wearable - little or no warm up time needed. How to get that substantial feeling without it weighing too much. I think some type of thinned down CXL steer is the answer. But that's just my daydreaming. And I think Bainbridge was created with that intend too.
Yeah that’s exactly the feeling I got too. Initially I felt it was kind of like CXL without the pain and suffering but I quickly lost my appetite to wear it. My jacket was lighter than both my current vic jackets and felt inconsistently thin in certain spots on the sleeves. Not 5 Star thin but I noticed it. I’m sure like every other leather option it’s subject to variance.
Nevertheless, if one wishes for the qualities of a CXL jacket, they will not be had with bainbridge. It is it’s own thing. Personally, not for me. I loved mine out of the box but that love faded fast.

Just a few images of the quartet of Type III style jackets featuring the recently arrived Aero in the 2nd image. The Vanson is a really sturdy jacket and the leather is acceptable although it took a lot of seasoning to get it look decent. The Schott is just OK and is good for a quick grab-n-go jacket. The Iron Heart is really quite special and the leather is ultra soft with lots of grain. The Aero - here we have the winner of the bunch. The hides are superb and rather pliable with impeccable finishing throughout. I really like the IH and comparing it to the Aero (for almost 1/2 the price) means I could get 2 Aero's for one IH although I got the IH as a 'gift'. So many jackets and so little time to wear them.

That looks great! More details on the jacket? How much does something like that cost?
Can you share the measurements? Do they have a stock of these ready to sell?

It’s JL’s Del-66 style in 4oz oxford tan steerhide. It must weigh 6.5-7 lbs. The jacket ran me $695 + tax. They had a Lg/44 and an XL/46(?) on the rack in this steerhide as well.

The hide is incredibly stiff, will definitely take a while to break in but it’s an absolute thing of beauty.

21” p2p
19.5” waist
25” sleeves
18.5” shoulders
25” length

yeah.. that aero has an unfair advantage with that red tab since they are buddy buddy with levistrauss, just a very small thing but adding so much flair.

They've got Kelpie now. Which I haven't seen in person yet. I am hoping it would be a 2.5oz version of the CXL that doesn't need as much warm up time but same CXL look and hefty hand feel.

I remember TheDonEffect did a thinned down CXL jacket at Johnson.

If it's easy (cracking the CXL code), then they'd be everywhere already!

I’ve got Kelpie (green) on my wool HB from Aero. I think it’s even thinner. Maybe 2oz?

Yeah I forgot about that one! I only remember the green wool. Does it look CXL? I've got a Seven in that hide in the works. I hope it is on par with CXL finish but easier to wear...

It’s def got some pull up but as of now the green looks essentially black. Unfortunately the leather on mine is situated in such a way that it will take a while to truly develop.

I currently have RMC J-24L and just got a Freewheelers La Brea in rude black after searching for one for about a year, I also have a RMC 30s Sport/Cooper that fits on the bigger side as I lost some weight I had this one for sale here but the listing was removed saying that I only use TFL to sell items however that is not the case.

Thanks for your comment. I recall you started a Type III thread with far more images of your assortment of Type III jackets with 2 Vanson Mavericks that are stellar! One in particular is with the zipper/button closure which appears to be a one off. As I noted in my description of my 4 modest Type III's, the Vanson is really a great all around leather jacket that can be called upon in a pinch and won't let me down. The Aero is far more a statement Type III for when something special is required.
