You're very right. That's absolutely a smart idea. It wouldn't be a smart purchase financially anyway at this exact moment, I was just figuring out the budgeting aspect of it all. Hopefully I'll be able to swing it later in the year after a bit of saving. You find a bunch of great people doing cool stuff, you tend to get excited. I'm sure you all can relate.

Well, welcome to TFL. Don’t say we didn’t warn ya! Haha. Most of us found this forum searching for “the one” and we ended up here 5 years later and having gone through 30 jackets! Some of the fun is the chase, the trade, the sale and the purchase. But your wallet and if you have a significant other they will hate it. I can say this though TFL is the nicest and most intelligent forum. There are others some more specific, but none that are this welcoming and cover so many bases in one place. So you’ve made a good choice joining us here.

just saw the IG story. That looks great. Really nice shade of brown and lots of grain.

I don't think moving them is going to be easy at this point. You'll probably have holes in the leather and he probably has to undo the lining.

Moving the buckles up from the bottom to waist level was a last minute decision that I’m starting to question.

Don´t worry. Jacket looks great as it is, and wether or not the buckles are slightly too high will not matter once you get used to the jacket.

May it have a long life. Been reading the link by @JMax on California Tanneries in the vintage thread. Block was an owner in one of the Tanneries. Love the color of this jacket.

Nice, I like the single angled ****** pocket layout on these Wards and Sears surcoats. The shearling collar adds a nice touch.

I got the same pocket on my Schott long halfbelt. It's probably the most practical pocket I have on all my jackets and possibly the coolest looking.

My new Sportclad is scheduled of tomorrow delivery, a day early. This is suppose to fit and be pristine! These pictures are horrible, but all I have until tomorrow. I quite sure it will brighten right up.
