Pulled the trigger on a Bronson L-2B after reading a thread or two here saying they can't be beaten for the price. Great service through the bay seller vtgdr_store who emailed me checking my weight height etc against the size I ordered.

Free shipping from China which means even normally it will take ages to get here....kinda expecting Covid-19 to make it even worse!

Will post pics and thoughts when it gets here.

I love buying stuff in from China which takes a few weeks to arrive - I tend to forget about it, then it's a nice surprise when it gets here. LIke a little present to myself! I'd be buying a lot of Bronson if they added a size or tow to the top end of their range; as it is, they largest size on pretty much everything looks to measured up at just about a size below what I'd be comfortable in. That will hopefully change with time. The quality of the stuff certainly seems good for the money, and the Japanese nylons in particular (in part due to lack of alternatives) have gone crazy money.

They’re actually quite warm though even though light weight. You might cook in it in Hawaii.

I have one of the Alpha Vintage Series L2A/Bs from the early 90s (in the paler, silvery blue). It's a nice jacket. Can be surprisingly warm for two layers of nylon; I'm guessing it traps heat well due to the manmade textile lacking in breath-ability. I'd guess, at a push, that it's somewhat warmer than an A2, though I've never directly compared them.

I can't wait to get my hands on the new Space Force jacket. Whatever that will be. If it's good enough to go into battle in space, then I want 1.

Going on past history, it'll be whatever the Air Force are wearing at that point, but in a jollier colour. I say bring back the red test-pilot MA1!

Unfortunately I got a message from Hercules Leather Company that they were suspending operations for the duration. They issued a refund to me, and I look forward to re-ordering this jacket when they get back up and running. I wish them well.

Interesting they're refunding rather than holding your order over. Does anyone know if they are making to order, a la Aero, or are they going more the Eastman route and selling from stock? I'd guess their biggest problem right now, and what is stopping their sales, will be the transport; I don't know exactly where they have their jackets made, but flights all being grounded right now and other transport limitations, getting them to the UK is likely out the window.

I have an ARCO A-2 on order from Bill Kelso — dear God I hope they are working on it now, but he said it could take up to four months.

I have a Tailgunner on order from SimmonsBilt that will hopefully be done much sooner, but they also seem to be working with a skeleton crew. I need that jacket the most so I can send my other main motorcycle jacket out for alterations.

I have a B-3 on order from Aero, but they have basically said they are not working on orders at all right now.

If only I were a smaller person. Imagine being a size 36 or a 38 — you could buy everything off the rack! I am unfortunately 6’3” with a 46-inch chest and the arms of an orangutan.

Tony offered ether to hold the order until they go back into production, or issue a refund, I chose a refund. I will probably order again after the fall.

Nothing striking my fancy at the moment. Honestly I’m more than ready to pack this stuff up for the summer and forget about jackets for four months. Give me a Tito’s and soda on the beach watching my kid frolic in the lake. Please and thank you.

Titos on the beach means summat else in Australia Ton old mate..some things just don't translate well

And don't start me on "fanny pack" , my first California USA trip in 1990 I had a good looking babe say to me

"Nice fanny pack !"...chit she meant my multi-coloured ( sorry colored!) bum bag !

"Fanny" has QUITE a different connotation in the old British empire..

Think of the quaint US "Poontang"...( as used by John F Kennedy no less !)
