How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I was thinking maybe they had to use different hides than normal to get pieces big enough to make a size 54 and it's not actually regular comp weight?
Maybe its vinyl?
This is my returned Enfield, size 40.

That is bad. And if potential first-time Vanson customers with some leather knowledge see that, they are moving on.

Though a few folks are already bidding on that jacket. They will either be disappointed or blissful in their ignorance of what true CW can be. Now I better understand why you returned this jacket.

After I get my new vanson CHP i will do a review of the leather new and when broken in with pics

I suspect that HH’s jacket is batch or some small timeframe- specific. Others here have purchased new Vanson in the CW and have been very happy. Now, the octagon/x-150 is always stellar. Your CHP in those hides would be amazing too.

The stock chp i used as a fit jacket and returned had some stitching that was not great. Might be a difference when going custom with the leather and attention to detail. Or not who knows. Going to give them a fair shot we shall see. Will be a beater bike jacket regardless

I think and hope that will be the case. My commando is spot on and my custom Chopper in an in-between size is great. My vest too.
Edit:: talking about stitching here.

If Vanson did that fuggetaboutit, game over man.
Just got an email back from Kim at vanson. I asked if they could make my CHP out of horween horsehide. She said they can do it, but I would have to order direct from Horween and ship to vanson. She gave me the square feet needed. A little too involved/hassle for me, but maybe someone else would be up to the Challenge.

“Hi Brad,
Well yes you can, but it becomes involved.

I do not have horween horsehide.
If you want that you must order it from them and send it to us.

You will need to order at least 60 sq ft I think.

The CHP2 has a very large back piece, which is nice, except that the
horsehide is front shoulders only and one whole hide piece will need
to be used for that.
There is a lot of waste because of the pattern piece sizes compared to
the
sizes of the hides. We never put it into production for this style when
we
used to have horsehide to use because of this issue.

Let me know if that is how you want to proceed.

Kim”

I did not need to know that. Wonder how much Horween would charge? And I assume Vanson would still charge the same for the jacket, even though I provide the leather? Thanks for the info, may have to look into this.

This does change everything now... Not for me but for anyone having a lot of money and living in the US, it does change everything.
