Well the diamond Gusset work jacket I ordered from All American clothing arrived today, and it's way too big.
I didn't pay that much aattention to the size chart, but they list the chest size for a small as 46.
I measured it and not counting the storm flap like they do, it's a 44.

How the hell is a size 44 a small ?

I found a brown Vanson A-2 and worked out a transaction for it. I have been searching for a brown one for some time now as they just do not pop up very often for sale in my big *** size. Looking forward to getting my grubby paws on this beauty.

Came in and went out just as fast. it fit great everywhere but at the most important part, sleeves too damn short.

Anyways long story short if it ain't broke don't fix it so I went on Ebay and found an unissued USN utility jacket to replace my old one .

Johnson leather. Very lightweight. Not sure if it's a thin horsehide split or what. Tag just says 'special leather'. The back grain makes me think of horse.

These are both the later non wool liner versions of the Kurland and the Sportclad. There definitely are some subtle differences.


Here’s the Kurland.

Here’s the Sportclad

Kurland epaulets are longer.

Sportclad epaulets are shorter.

The Kurland has snaps and buttons for a mouton collar. See back picture.

The Sportclad does not.

Buckles are the same, inner pocket is the same. Sleeve zips are the same with a double stitch. The horsehide on both of these is super nice.
