As cheap as I am, I think it is worth it to pay for quality. Not overpay, but pay a fair price. @jeo showed us how to do it recently.

Nah but I’ll definitely pay up though. However, it must be rare, mint condition and my size.

Quality can be had for cheap. With patience and persistence you can acquire an entire collection on the cheap.

Here are some of mine.

Just got this great condition 50’s Guide Master last weekend for $175 at a flea market.

40’s HD Cycle Champ I got a while back for $150. It was huge so I traded with a buddy.

Late 50’s HD for $75

50’s Penney’s for $125

30’s goatskin HB for around $100

RP for $225

This is a cool one. Got that 70s look in the front. Are you planning to apply some Urad to darken it up?

It looks a bit dry so I will apply some Columbus Leatherien and Leather Crystal on but no Urad. I think the lotion will darken the leather a bit but not like coloured Urad does.

Excuse the quick photos. The jacket is a great fit, nice leather that is easy to wear. Not as pristine as some other jackets posted on here, but overall good condition and it smells like good old leather.

Are they liquidy or more of a paste?

Don’t know if you’ve heard of Lexol, but I use it for all my leather goods. Liquidy conditioner. Easy to apply even with your bare hands. And it has a good lingering smell after.

But I’m always interested in trying new products.

Would be way too small for you. It’s kind of tight on me. So much so that one shoulder seam busted open. If I did sell I’d need to repair it. It’s a keeper though.

Love it when a sleeve has not creases but ROLLS. Like boots. Indicates properly thick leather.

I though so too before but it's not just the thickness. Sometimes thin leather will roll like that & thick one will break. It's interesting & I can't figure out what the cause is. Maybe how much oil is inside it.

Leatherien is a liquid cleaning lotion with mink oil. Leather Crystal is jojoba oil wax with lanolin, a paste. If extremely dry with crackd, i may use mccoys horse oil.
Columbus products are more readily available here being products from Japan.

With the detachable collar too? Nice!! Never seen that Talon on a RP. This is a standard RP police jacket in horsehide. These can have the label at the neck or below the interior pocket. Early post-war c.1946.

Another amazing RP discovery. I don't think I have this jacket in my achieve, maybe another similar. Pot metal War Time zipper stop. The ones I own do not have any numbers as earlier ones do. This has a distinct 3 and a letter I can't make out. I would say 1943 month unknown. Now know...
