How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I don't know if the title of this jacket is accurate. Looks like a Chinese made or an unlabeled 5Star........ or something along those lines. That's just the impression I get........ I could well be wrong. Doesn't look terrible. Certainly a cheap starting price.........
I’d say the “Style” in the title gives it a pass, too bad there’s apparently no tags.

I hear ya. I am sick.

I have well over 150 jackets by now.......... and I have lost weight.....gained weight......lost a lot of weight......gained alotta weight.........then most recently last year lost a TON of weight........ and I have the long trail of jackets to prove it!!! I am fitting into jackets that I never could before. Some members of my GOTTA SELL pile now fit me....... and some old favorites have me contemplating possibly moving them. My in house jacket rankings have certainly seen some changes for sure.

I go through periods where I am trying to stay away from buying but then something special presents itself and I can't help myself but to snatch it up. I have at least a few dozen to sell. Some are what I would term "STARTER/ENTRY LEVEL"" jackets that are under $100........ some are more special and some have no available comparisons to base a sales price on. I am building a closet addition in my home renovation that will add just under 100 square feet to the existing master closet with Ten Foot walls and ceilings to allow for 3 levels of jacket racking. I will need to make a pole and hook type of jacket retriever to get them off of the highest rack. But I will want and in some cases NEED to clean and condition the whole herd before commingling all of these jackets with my clothes/shoes. I don't have a place clean enough to do that until my construction is finished though so I have some interesting scents combining to waft thru my jacket overflow rooms to say the least.

Sometimes the thought crosses my mind of what I could buy with my leather jacket money if they were all sold. I am totally addicted to hunting these jackets down and finding cool vintage. I MAY put some for sale at my cousin's record store he is opening soon. Anything I sell I will obviously offer here in the Lounge. Jackets I have to return to Sellers always contain a note from me referring the Seller to the Lounge where they pay no fees and will have a welcoming audience and a concentration of sick individuals like me who like to nit pick zippers and seams and lament the measuring follies of novice Sellers.

Honestly---it didn't start this way!!!! I have learned so much from this Lounge. The learning never stops and it spurs new interest in different styles and fits. I love gawking at members' jacket collections.

Every once in a while I spend hours trying on jackets and reminding myself what all I have and how cool I think they are. Its a very personal hobby in many ways but I am glad to be able to share it with everyone here. I feel like its a cross between a club and a therapy group. Lol. LONG LIVE THE LOUNGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terry, if you sell all of your jackets---that day will be a sign that THE END TIME is upon us. It would be a sad day hopefully we never have to see. I don't ever wanna see those TOOLS from American Pickers sashaying around your house asking, "....How bout this old Peters Police Jacket.............wouldja do $150??? How bout the Peters Police Jacket and these old Sears jackets for $250???? Wouldja do that???? $250 on these five old jackets!?!??!?!!?! Oh WOW are those Vintage Gibsons I see!?!?!!?!?!?! Are these for sale too!?!?!?!!?" UGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! If you EVER have to sell your jacket collection----I think you might find quite a few of us booking tickets to Galesburg.................

Well said.

I personally want to go someplace else with my clothes in general but at the same time, because of my TFL roots, I simply cannot leave the notion of quality über ales so I'm kind of stuck in between jeans cuffing crowd and whatever Balenciaga wants people to be. . .

At least once a day I think about selling all of my jackets except the fleece denim trucker, because it's warm, and I don't even know why I would want to do that.

Having things is tiresome, I guess...

Baggy elbows - is this a common occurrence when breaking in a new jacket? Might have something to do with me moving the wrist buttons almost 2 inches (!) further in.

The leather on the elbow do seem to stretch out a bit while wearing them to break it in. But I've found once they're hung up it sort of settles itself, and the next time I put the jacket on it's just creases.
The thing about breaking in heavier leather is to be a gentle to avoid the inside elbow rashes. Some sleeves taper at the forearm making this even more noticeable.

Damn you!
I just saw this and went to their website figuring that they would definitely be sold out by now. They had XL available and I bought one. I need another black cross zip like I need another hole in my head but I couldn’t help myself!
Marro, I ordered mine 6 days ago. I placed the order early at 12:30 A.M. on the 25th. However, no answer tracking number. I called HD to get an update but the rep little hang up on me. I called back again and the rep kept on making excuses as to why no tracking number was available. She claims they have many orders... I told her perhaps they should hire an adequate labor force to address their needs. At their site, if you need decent mail delivery times, you must pay a premium. Not cool. Six days and counting to PROCESS an order is not the American way.

Thanks, if there wasn’t a taper before there certainly is now!
Also, are you talking about a rash on my skin or the horsehide?

Ciao he 44 size Is a medium fit or more Large?
Ciao, the 44---assuming it is American sizing we are talking about--- would fall into the size Large category in my opinion. I believe a 44 in European sizes is a 34 in American sizing. So to be clear---if it is an American or British made jacket with a tagged size 44---that would be considered in the size LARGE range. Numbered sizing is more specific than the Small/Medium/Large/Extra Large sizing. But different makers will run larger or smaller than the stated size (ex. Aero tends to run big for it numbered sizes so your actual size in their jackets is often a size or two down depending on the jacket).

I hope I am not confusing you. Just figure an American 44 is a Large.

I get rashes on my arm when I break in new CXL leather sleeves. Not sure if it's the drill rubbing or just the robust CXL leather. So whenever I can I opt for moleskin lined sleeves, it helps to soften the break in. I once saw a guy post on Instagram about that too. He took photos of his arm rashes while breaking in his CXL KOTR. The result is still worth it though. Just spread out the breaking period.

My arms aren’t suffering except a little at the pits, and the jacket is becoming more roomy there. It is unlined and feels great against my skin when I do shortsleeves.

Oh boy! Well we’re headed into a heat wave here in the Bay Area so I won’t freeze if I don’t see the jacket for a little while. Still that is disappointing to hear about your bad experience with HD. I can only hope the jacket makes up for that when it arrives!
To be honest I was really surprised to see that they still had them available after all this time. I know when they have released this model previously it usually sells out within hours.

I was thinking of contacting Vanson directly to get mine with some MIl zippers. I know back in the 50s builders like durable and Cal leathers used those extra heavy teeth zippers. So is not outside the possibility of looking out of time period. Vanson did a really good job with that model. The only part I do not like is the lining. Just too thick for me. I live in the only Mediterranean climate zone outside the Med. LOL.

That’s funny because it was the lining that pushed me over the edge to order the jacket yesterday. I love buffalo plaid and i’ve always thought this lining looks so cool in the early MC jackets from Buco and others.
