How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

@regius is that a mythical, newly completed Good Wear?

I really need to chase up John, as my order has been lost down the back of the metaphorical filing cabinet for a very, very long time. :(

Close but still a bit big in the chest so I think it has to go back for another alteration. I know I won't be happy with it as is, but the jacket should be darn near perfect when it comes back.
Well I am glad they are working with you. I would love another langlitz, I just think I would need to go to the shop to avoid fit issues again. As I have said over and over I wish they would do it a little different such as posting measurements for stock jackets or send fit jackets, etc. I understand the philosophy and it has been the WAY they do it. But im sure 95 percent of folks could get a stock jacket with a few adjustments. I hope this does not bar you from getting another custom jacket down the road like some on FDL having had a couple remakes. I never had much luck talking to John. None the less I will stop my rant. Love their leather and construction. Guess maybe i am more jealous of others great fit. I am 5 10 170 lbs 40 chest 33x32 jeans pretty average size should be simple To fit me...

Well here is to your great jacket, good luck on the next, and hoping my center zip CHP from Johnson works out! Have a cloth fit jacket coming in a week or so hopefully.

I spoke with Constantine at Vanson the other day and I was pleasantly surprised to find that my jacket is in production. The leather has been cut, next comes the lining, and then finally the construction. This will be a shameless copy of JMax’s octagon Chopper with a couple small tweaks of my own.

I’m one of the exiles you mentioned and I agree with everything you say here. I also think that Langlitz does beautiful work and I’m happy to see that they are working with you to make your jacket perfect Colin, can’t wait to see the finished product!

Sears Herc. Main zip is trashed, liner looks a bit “gamey”. Numbers looked good and I trust the seller. It’ll be headed straight to Dena upon arrival.

How did you tweak it?

whenever I go into “sell” mode with my jackets, my wife says I “can sell them all except this one”. Great jacket! Though of course, she also says all my black ones are the same smh.

I’m leaning towards him ending up on the list after this one. In my case it took two remakes to put me on the “do not fly” list.
Like Psant I did not have a positive experience dealing with John, the GM. I felt like he thought it was his job to strong arm me into sticking with a jacket that did not fit well and he tried to accomplish this by being condescending and pushy. Neither of those tactics work particularly well with me and that is probably why I am a former customer now.
That’s enough of that nonsense though, I am always happy to see when Langlitz gets it right and i’m sure Colin’s will be epic.

Olive drab stitching instead of the white or cream. Dark blue Japanese chambray lining and top stitching on the sleeves.

Ton, it deserves to buy original NOS Conmar or Talon from 40s-50s, to let Dena do her best. No YKK for this beaut please, YKK will ruin that.
LOL. I appreciate the input but respectfully disagree. It will improve its functionality 10 fold. I can’t buy another flimsy zipper to replace the flimsy one that already failed. I might shop for a riri but those God awful Talons and Conmars should go straight into a recycle bin and turned into soup cans or storage containers for canned yams.

Ton, if you feel so much sceptic about #5's (sorry, don't agree with you if we're speaking about NOS originals, not repros), then possibly original NOS #10 Talon or #10 Conmar might be quite a good choice too. Or at least famous Riri #8. I'd go for #10 Talon or Conmar then, it's qoing to be quite a bit less pricey than Riri) Up to you if course, but not YKK anyway! When any historical original goes with modern YKK it looks awful and to me that ruins the whole jacket.

That’s an interesting point of view. I’ve often wondered about this sentiment, especially around here, where all things Japan are held in the highest regard. The one exception being the most widely used zipper in the world, a reputation based solely on its reliability (which is the actual point of a zipper, to be functional and reliable).
So...all thing Japan are great, best of the best, except for one thing that they have produced for decades and is used all over the world based on its superior strength and reliability?

To each their own) I'd never buy any historical original jacket with zipper changed from damaged original to modern YKK. I value period correctness and originality and have just supposed that this not expensive jacket might deserve original zipper because of the leather which looks quite interesting to my taste, interesting enough to warrant a little fuss. Once again - to each their own, no problem)
Anyway, nice purchase, congrats Ton! Well done!)
