How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Well, that's awkward. I wouldn't want the d-pocket positioned like that. However I would have made very clear how precisely I wanted it if I went custom, so this may be a communication problem? I kind of understand if LL refuses to remake. Custom orders going wrong is much more annoying than a standard jacket being returned due to fit.

I think the position is a little bit weird isn't it?
It almost looks like they tried to match the position of the D pocket zipper with the position of the other sides's handwarmer.
To me it is too far out on the outside and too straight. I would have wanted it closer to the main zipper and at a more slanted angle... Basically a mirror image of the OG death's head position.

Tough call, not sure what i would do.
Feel like a douche for asking it to be remade for what is only a subjective aesthetical thing, or keep something that isn't what you had in mind...
Thanks for chiming in Carlos, I agree that the pocket placement does look odd. Odd enough for a remake? Only Regius can make that call. It will be interesting to see how this one unfolds.

I believe you can only use the chance for remake your jacket for one time, after that they will refuse your order request.
In my experience it was two times Hh. And to be fair to them they did not refuse to make me any more jackets, rather they refused to make a custom jacket that I had requested.

Got myself into a pickle. Ordered a new Langlitz Cascade with “death head” D pocket and stitch down epaulettes. Jacket was finished very quickly, hasn’t shipped yet. But, thank god I asked for a photo. Scott told me if I wanted the D pocket to be on the right hand side just like the death head or the usual left side, I said left side. But didn’t think the maker decided to do this. See photo.

That does look weird... Not gonna lie, I cannot fathom the logic behind what they've done there, even if there was a gratuitous amount of misunderstanding. What were they thinking? It has to be the most unpractical pocket I've ever seen.
I mean, you can't put your left hand inside because of the direction of the "D" - provided the patch isn't just for the show and the pocket has got a regular pocket bag (which also makes zero sense) - and reaching for it with your right hand doesn't seem very practical at all and that's to say the least.

Or am I missing something?

So I did placed my order, but the guy seemed very hesistant to accept it, didn't get real response beyond "i ll look into it, later"... so after 5days i was thinking was it just my imagination, perhaps he was just being busy, or he indeed trying to politely reject my "design"....
So yesterday, i quickly do rough doodles
4buttons type3 and simple vest with 5 small button, got answered immediately despite sending it close to midnight, guess my gut feeling was right.... sometime it is the asian way of saying "nope"you just got to read the mood, tone, lack of response and unspoken word... well probably small buttons on the minimalistic vest would be cool enough to pair with denim and leather jacket, and hopefully my sister like a slubby raw crop type3 :(... i will have my initial vest design later on made with leather through the usual jacket maker i usually order from they dont have fancy chainstitch machine though, but a lot more open with client's ideas.

It's just a D pocket, it doesn't have a pocket back, it's just an extra layer of leather stitched on.
Things you put in it are in between the jacket shell and the extra pocket layer.
D pockets are mostly only accessible with your right hand, not the left.
Some jackets like the Aero Daytona have a left handed D pocket, but they are really the exception rather than the norm.

I don't see a problem with the pocket, only it's position, if it was closer to the zipper and tilted like this it would be badass! (IMO)

Edit: it looks like they tried to keep the pocket zipper parallel to the main zipper, which is the same thing they do with the Death's head cascade, only in this situation it looks weird.

I think, rather than have a full remake, why not just ask a bigger D pocket, the old stitch holes would be covered by a new bigger D panel.
I thought about that, but for the record, I did have several photographic emails with Scott illustration various vintage D pocket jackets, the only thing I didn't do is to say it out loud: look the D pockets are all somewhat facing and near the center ling/main zip, and, the death head one is also lined against the main zip (on the other side).

Also for the record, Scott did ask me "do you want it to be on the death head side or the opposite side", i said "opposite side".
The only explanation is that when "opposite side" is transmitted to a pattern maker/machinist, it is automatically interpreted as to be "on the mirror opposite side of the death head pocket". If you draw a vertical center line, the position of this D is in fact on the mirror opposite side of the DH pocket. This is how I look at it.

Langlitzs folks are very nice, I met all of them and so far bought three from them, and a lady's one for a lady friend, in the store. I do hope they can accept a re-make, I don't want a larger D, for that short of sending them a cardboard pattern of the correct D shape I like, I wouldn't leave it to them to design the larger D. Also, hate to know there are stitch holes there.

I guess I’m a little confused, What exactly is wrong with how they placed the pocket? Not trying to be a smart ass here, just not sure what the issue is.
The full extent of the weirdness may be revealed once the jacket is laid down flat, and is worn on a body. The single photo Scott shared is at an angle.
I feel the D pocket will literally be on my flank side, way to far to the side of my left rib for my right hand to reach. The only person who can reach into it is my girlfriend when she hugs me.....

I think Roadking wrote the experience about this where He got rejected from Langlitz

^ this^

I am still banned 10 years later for getting a remake that didn't fit. They did refund my money.

Sounds very “asshole” to me.

You make a custom order, they make a mistake, you point out that mistake and you’re banned for life if they remake the jacket due to their mistake.

Wow!

Do you think they will accept your order if you pay by check or cash? Makes it non-refundable

I gave them a $500 deposit and waited in the que for about 2 months. I had a few calls and had all the details worked out. After all that, when it was finally time to make the jacket, I got a call and they said they are not willing to make my jacket and refunded my deposit. I was pissed they had me wait and go through the whole order process to tell me at the very end that they were not willing to make my jacket.

@Monitor, You are absolutely right, the SD is a tank! I love seeing yours evolve. I hope to one day own one. After my order was rejected from Langlitz, I knew there was only one person to call for a heavily customized Perfecto style crosszip.

I would have a hard time choosing between your SD or Jmax's J23. Lost world's definitely build INDUSTIAL strength leather jackets. They are on my radar. Keep your pics of the SD coming.

BTW, I love the belt design on your new Indian Ranger. I actually have the belt going through the back panel of my upcoming motorcycle jacket.

You can't go wrong with either of these so just toss a coin and go for it. Happy to toss the coin for you if you want :D

Update: Langlitz is at the tradeshow One Motorcycle. So no one is attending to my request as yet.
