ll Bean wicked good slippers. Or their handsewn in flannel? Or maybe the leather or bison double-soles?
My UGG ASCOT the fleece is all matted down. Comfy shoes in winter though. Sole looks new. Now they are 120. Too much for matted shearling

Found some at town view leather but I have never worn lined or unlined double sole mocshoe. Any comments or suggestions?

Hello. I normally have two pairs of house slippers as I seem to take them off and then I am too foggy to recall the location of where they were at last! Not one to advise on foot ware of this type I merely own some rather non expensive ones that have the typical material inside, flannel or some close to flannel material.

I have been toying with the idea of buying some slippers that are commonly called, "romeo", not because I think I am Brad Pitt, but due to the nature of some of them seem to be made well enough to last perhaps 20 years or so! The leather some of them are made from and how they are made seems a real step up from the typical slipper! Aside from that, Brad could give me a call for advise, as from what I can tell he has less action going on then I do....(weeee haaaaw)... However I think the romeo slippers would not have much inside of them to assist in keeping anyone's feet warm. I think that part would be up to wearing some woolie socks, or maybe a snip or two of some spice rum, hot coffee, or your favorite female, which in my case is my sweet and dear Wife!

I ordered some Lands End Canoe Moc shoes with shearling. They were on sale in chocolate for $62, marked down from $89, and with a coupon, I got them for $49 shipped. I read that they may not be all that sturdy, but I have a pair of Ugg Ascots that would be $120 to replace and while the sole looks new on them after 4 or 5 years, the toe seam is torn and the white fleece is all matted down and bare in spots on the ball of my foot and black.

I also found some double soled leather moccasins at townvillageleather.com. My issue is that they have a deerskin lined model and an unlined model. I could wear either of these year round but dont know which would be hotter, or more comfortable, and whether you can wear such a shoe to say Walmart. Any one got experience with this sort of shoe? Here is a link to the lined model

As I type, I'm wearing LL Bean lined suede moc slippers my wife got me for
Christmas some years ago. Love them. Earl

I find that the problem with Prince Albert slippers is that the cheap ones look really cheap, and the expensive ones are REALLY expensive. It's hard to find an acceptable middle ground although M&S used to do OK ones. Their image has mostly been ruined by hip-hop "celebrities" anyway. Give me a nice checked carpet slipper any day!

I have nice warm fleece lined slippers that I wear every day. Prince Albert slippers are traditionally for black or white tie functions. After dinner the men would adjourn to a smoking area don their smoking jackets and put the Prince Alberts slippers on. The function, of the slippers, is what is I find attractive.

Well, ordered me two pair
Lands End shearling lined mocs that were on sale for $48, chocolate brown. Figure winter only
Then some year round ones, some townviewleather.com deerskin-lined chocolate brown mocs, a little bit more, $105.

It's usually too hot here to wear slippers at all, but when it is chilly, and/or I'm going out to check the mail, I need a pair. Looks like I have to try the Town View moccasins. My Minnetonkas are (a) wearing out and (b) almost impossible to find in a store here.

Im jazzed about the town view leather mocs coming. I read up on Arrow and Quoddy and other handmade mocs and these get great reviews and moreso when price is factored in. I got the lined ones because they say that they are more 'luxurious' to the feet and these things conform to the feet.

Memphis can get cold at night. I can wear the UGGs from October to April, and sometimes when I have thrown them on to go get the paper, leave them on to run to get gas for a car, or pick up things at Walmart or Lowes.

The Lands End ones came in last night and they were flimsy by comparison. Took them to Sears to get a refund. Tried on some Macy's house brand ones, and, well, $20 is a great price, but Id be killing myself for getting cheap. Went on Ebay and found some 'demo' ones it looks like for $69.50 shipped in suede. UGGS makes a darn sturdy shoe and the real shearling is much preferred over polyester fleece or flannel. Bad thing is that the fleece gets matted down after a couple of years. Oh well, these are every bit 4 or 5 years old and I can keep them around for running out in the yard or what not. Kicking around in the house, those town view and the new UGGS will be fine.
