Mae West went on to make SEXTETTE, a movie even more horrible that MYRA BRECKINRIDGE.

Timothy Dalton plays her "love" interest. Mae and Timothy sing "Love Will Keep Us Together". Alice Cooper appears, looking normal and singing a schmaltzy song. Really!

"Second Chorus" was a stinker, and Fred Astaire admitted that it was his worst film. It was also Artie Shaw's last film (as himself), though he was later to appear on "What's My Line" and some minor roles in TV episodes.

Carlisle -- That takes the cake. I don't even remember that movie. Did it actually play in theatres?

Why would either man consent to play in that movie? I can't believe it was for the money....

Whoops! Didn't notice 'Golden Era.' Connery probably need not apply. So I'll mention Casino Royale with David Niven. Amusing at times, but put together by multiple writers and directors - multiple plots running through it, and the ending is, while amusing, not all that satisfying if you were trying to make sense of the movie. Amusing, though. Keep watching 'till the end for the song. lol

It may look disgraceful to us but someone once said "if you aren't acting, you are not an actor."

Yes, but someone else said "It's better to burn out than it is to fade away." ;)

Joan Crawford's career spanned decades... Maybe a few too many. She ended up in schlock like Strait-Jacket, which was when things started to go down fast. She was way over the top in I Saw What You Did, and was downright laughable in Berserk and Trog. Something comes to mind about a dead animal and some salt...

That being said, I've seen every film and enjoyed them thoroughly.

I mentioned Robert Mitchum in The Night of the Hunter, but it was such a bad movie, it's worth mentioning again! His creepiness was way better in Cape Fear.

Agreed

The Night of the Hunter was so "terrible" that in 1992, it was deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the United States Library of Congress and was selected for preservation in its National Film Registry.

The film's lyric and expressionistic style sets it apart from other Hollywood films of the 1940s and 50s, and it has influenced later directors such as David Lynch, Martin Scorsese, Terrence Malick, the Coen brothers, and Spike Lee.

As previously stated, I am not alone in this opinion - Check the message boards on IMDB.

One memorable stinker from 1956 has John Wayne as Genghis Kahn, with Susan Hayward. Filmed in the area around the nuclear testing grounds, it is suggested that Dick Powell, Hayward, Wayne and a number of others died from the cancers that they developed from being in the area.

If true, then it's especially ironic that they died because of a really bad film.

I had heard many good things about this movie, so when I saw it in a video store I quickly bought it. Upon watching it I found it to be a laughably bad movie! Mitchum is good in his role but there are so many other problems with the movie I can't understand how it gets such high marks on IMDB (not that they are always perfect). The acting of the children is abysmal for the most part, and the story seems to wander on without a clear direction while clumsily introducing new characters and painfully continuing the story. Can anyone help me out with some of the merits of the film, or why it is held in such high regard?

This is more what I was referring to.

I've heard about that too! It's similar to the stories about the casts of Rebel Without a Cause and The Misfits.

I love John Wayne, but I don't think he was a good choice to play Khan.

Bela Lugosi poor and drug-addicted, appeared in the Ed Wood horrible movie Glen or Glenda. Also appearing was Lyle Talbot, he proudly claimed to have never rejected any role offered to him, which explains his participation in three infamous Edward D. Wood, Jr. films: Glen or Glenda, Jail Bait and Plan 9 from Outer Space

Dana Andrews didn't do too badly in his final years, with one groovy exception: HOT RODS TO HELL (1967).

***Extra bonus point: an excellent turn as General Buck Brinkman in "The Loved One" (1965).***

.

The Last thing I remember seeing him in was Good Guys Wear Black, which featured Chuck Norris in his first starring role. Jim Backus also had a small part in that film. :)

Don't forget "30,000 Leagues Under The Sea" I'm not sure that the film-makers bothered to read the Verne classic. They seemed to think that the 30,000 leagues would refer to depth.

30,000 leagues = 168,000km
Diameter of the Earth (pole to pole) = 12,713km

As the accountant-detective said "something doesn't add up".
