Homburg Nation

Hutfabrik Heinrich Schneider, "Taunus Hut", possibly early 1960s. This is very nice made later Homburg. The felt and components are various shades of brown. The liner is stitched in but there is no paper label. I had a couple other HHS hats but unfortunately not well documented.

Nice find, Steve. I really like the muted colours on this one.

Hückel Wien, 58 cm, possibly early 1950s. There is no paper label but there is 58 cm round size tag. The Sweatband seam is glued and all the Hückel Weilheim hats I checked have stitched seams. The Felt is very light weight and extremely pliable which is also not like any Hückel Weilheim hat I have but this one could be earlier. Great form with contrasting black Band and light gray Binding.

I have a similar Hückel Wien made for Carl Kellner Hamburg. Its Felt has similar characteristics.

Maybe you remember the Borsalino stamp-dated Homburg from Max Eckard, Berlin,
which was too big for me at 7 punti (a salute to Daniele)? This one is its little brother
- at least so small that it fits me perfectly:

Borsalino "Gigiasgu" (never seen) in middle grey "Nizza"
for the German market: sold at Josef Hermann, München
felt matching brim binding + contrasting, frayed crown ribbon
size 6 Punti on the separate size stamp next to the label
brim 5,5 cm; ribbon 4,8 cm; crown 11,5 cm dent/14,5 cm open

I suspect it will be green hats all around today, but there are other (better:)) ways to go to celebrate St Patrick's day. A hat in the colour of Guiness for example and a different nod to Ireland.
Dublin homburg hat in black. Size 56 with the brim at 6cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Model is called Basel and the quality is called Poniko. I need another black homburg like I need a hole in my head, but I couldn't resist. The label is by W&G Schuchart, a wholeseller who likely sourced from Wegener. Sláinte!

J. Heinr. Ita Wien "Super" "Extra Qualität", 55 cm possibly late 1950s. Very nice pliable black Felt that easily dry creases. High quality components and workmanship. The overall condition is NOS. J. Heinr. Ita Wien were well known high quality Vienna made hats but they more difficult to find. This one was a seller size mistake.

Stra Barbisio extra lusso homburg in grey. Size 60 with the generous brim at 6,5cm and the crown 12 or 13cm high. I left it open crown because it could well work as an open crown hat as well. Didn't want to spoil it. Everything about this one is Italian hatmaking at its best. Weighs 138 grams.
