Okay thanks.
Canadian brand? I really don't know, could be. I never heard of Cauly's, but the quality is really good. Bought it for 25 euro's, so it's a bargain i think.
The logo on the liner is the coat of arms for the UK, so that would suggest Cauly's is British. Is that an otter or beaver above the name Cauly's on the sweatband?

Nice catch for €25 btw, Pellie.

Are there any labels under the sweatband?

Looks like a beaver to me too with that wide tail. Cauly's is a new one on me, but it sure looks like a nice Homburg. How's the feel of the felt?

The felt feels very soft, so i think it's good quality. I can not find anything about Cauly's on the internet. So i've got a mysterious homburg haha.

That would also look nice with a light purple or lilac ribbon.

Lobbia Borsalino Qualità Superiore size is 6 or 7 3/8 US

A perfect homburg in a grey shades, with a contrasting ribbon in a deep grey, brim ribbon of the same color of felt

The proportions are as follow: curled and bounded brim at 5 cm. Crown at 11 cm.

Felt of medium weight, color is "Bario", Ribbon is "Asphalt" made in 1986

Excellent conditions, it has two stars on the sweatband, but no name where it was sold

A classic homburg in a very elegant shape and colors

It may well be beaver felt. The beaver logo and it being very soft seem to suggest that. That would make it an even better buy for €25.

Someone told me, this is no Homburg but a Windsor. British brand who made hats for royalties and other prominent people. A Windsor has pinches in the front, a Homburg doesn't.

Sorry to say, but the "someone" who told you this is talking nonsense. You can put pinches in a Homburg, you can also choose not to. The great thing with a Homburg is, you can pinch or not pinch as you wish.

Haha ok, but isn't a Homburg crown higher then a Windsor?

I'm not sure what a Windsor hat is. I believe there's a hat company called Windsor, but as a type of hat, I've not come across it.

As regards crown height, I have a good deal of Homburgs and Lobbias (Italian designation for the type of hat), which are of different crown heights as they are of brim width.

I’m not sure from the photos, but it looked as though there isn’t any brim binding. If so, maybe “Windsor” was intended to designate it as a lords hat? I too have never heard of a hat type or style called “Windsor.”

I see what you're getting at, Brent. The photos looked like there was a brim binding to me. Plus, Lord's hats' brims aren't usually that wide are they?

Hope Pellie can clarify on the brim binding.

Okay, me was told, a Windsor has a lower crown with pinches and a Homburg has a taller crown, no pinches and center creased. Churchill always wears a Homburg. A Windsor is typical british, so many people in the british goverment disliked the hatchoice of Churchill. If this all is true, i don't know :)
