How did that quote go in Tombstone???? "I don't take no lip off no bartender neither!"..... :D
My Wanderer's cover the style close enough but I want the Real McCoy.....

I dont understand where this is coming from... but anyway... Mike Moore {Buckaroo Hatters}
is making me a new Beaver Brown felt color Playboy style that I think is ready now.
But it will be a few weeks before I can get over to pick it up.
Dont worry about anymore lip from me.

I got one of my Holy Grails, a 7x clear beaver, on E Bay a couple of months ago. Now I have a Stetson 25, and a Stetson 7x Clear Beaver, and I'm about done with Open Road style for new purchases. Unless I see that light gray Stetson 7x clear beaver on E Bay again that was sold by Buler a couple of years ago in my size, I'm done with vintage Grails and from now on focus my attention on new hats.

...unless I see something compelling on E Bay.

I would love to have the character George Valentin's white homburg from "The Artist." I don't know when or where I'd wear it, but I just adore the hat. I can't find any images on google. It's a bone/ivory/white homburg with a contrasting ribbon (black/brown/burgundy?) and center dent.
I should have bought the bone homburg while I visited D Bar J last summer even though the ribbon was more matching than contrasting, but it was way above my price range!

Maybe not a holy grail, but rare & keenly sought A & F Safari

...before they began to sell teen togs & in the tradition of those whom once outfitted the likes of Earhart, Shackleton & Roosevelt, i.e. '88 or earlier.

Tagged as made in South Africa, almost certainly by Dorian. Far more difficult to find than the W & G for some reason. :D

I understand what you mean Rick... for years I was in search of a Banana Republic safari hat.
And in the last year was able to get one.

I've basically acquired all the hats I really want, save for waiting on my Adventurebilt.

Now, I'd like to get a nice heather/misto Borso, or a really snazzy Homburg like Al's (Caxton maybe?). Though I wouldn't turn away a nice 7x CB either.

I kept wanting a brown hat. I had my eyes set for a Borsalino but the price went up too much. Settled for a nice Knox for about 60 and I'm loving it.

I'd love to find a pristine silverbelly Borsalino Alessandria from the 1940's or early 50's. I have one that has some minor moth tracking but the hat is still amazing. It is so lightweight and with the non-reeded sweatband I forget I'm wearing a hat.

I've been wanting an Indy ROTLA hat for sometime now. I also went through a phase of wanting Open Roads, (now I have too many ORs and too many in Silver Belly)! I don't think I'll ever be satisfied even if I did find the Holy Grail of hats....Although I have been wanting to start a nice little collection of pre-Resistol Bradford hats of late. I have two Bradfords and those hats are awesome, aside from being hard to come by these days. I'd put them up against their Stetson equivalents any day, anytime.

I've been searching for a black cherry fedora or homburg but can't seem to find anything (other than offerings by some custom hatters). Needing a 7-5/8 or 7-3/4, I doubt I'll stumble across a vintage hat in that color that's wearable by me.
