I seem to wear this hat almost allways with a hollywood-brim..:)

Forgive my ignorance, but what's that hat Djgo? I love the colour/look.

And of course as Mario says you wear it well!

My daughter is a big fan of the hollywood brim, A look she generally achieves by wearing her hats backwards and slightly to the side.[huh] Kids today!

Fantastic photo man! The Playboy lends itself well for this type of style. Great tie also.

Very true Bolthead, the thinner hats in general seem to take the brim treatment easier.

Whoa! That Imperial Stetson there is a marvelous hat! Now we'd love to see a noggin shot!! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Thanks for the compliments, guys! I have an aversion to plastering my face up on the internet, though. Just a weird thing of mine. Give me some time to brainstorm on how to hide my face while taking a picture of it. Or you may just need to settle for the Lysol can. I'll see if I can get one of me sideways.

So I finally have a fur felt sorta fedora, and as promised, here it is with my hollywood brim.

It actually swoops the same direction as my panama, but I set my computer to stop mirroring my photos.

You wear it with panache! Now we just need to convince you to trim down that moustache! :D

Bah. If anyone would support the pencil moustache you would think that it would be the loungers.

Oh, and thanks.

FT who don't know, it's the style associated with (but not exclusive to) Johnny Depp:

On a side note, I've been wondering about the fact that Mr Depp apparently wears hats that are a couple of sizes too big. Does he put in those severe crown dents at the front to make the hat fit, and if so, do you think that creates a more interesting look overall?

Has anyone else tried the look of wearing a too-big hat with severe dents?

I like those dents.

I wouldn't mind trying that, but it takes a 7 3/4 or bigger hat for that experiment (?! ).. hard to find.. Oh, and keep in mind that Johnny Depp wears long hair.. dunno how thick it is, but a thick rug under a hat could serve as extra 'fill'..

It is actually my St. Regis homburg, and I just gave the brim a bit of a steam and relaxed the curl out of it. It was surprisingly easy.

Aha!! wow, I'm on the lookout for a St.Regis, because I like the looks of that particular Homburg so much.. I don't think I would ever steam out the curl out of the brim... but hey, to each his own ;)

Yeah, we do tend to support it, but I would say in your case that a tiny bit thicker would suit you better. Nice Hollywood brim effect.

I was just being facetious. But you are right that something needs to change slightly about it. Someone else just told me that it needs to be trimmed a bit more, clearly I need to fix it somehow.
