Yes they should.

My grandfather was with SGT. Noel Dube working as part of his demolition team when the physical wall was blown on Omaha Beach (as stated by Mr. Dube - my grandfather passed when my mother was two so we did not know until a few years ago when we met Mr. Dube that he was involved). So to honor them, yes they should keep every bit of that wall in place.

Well one might also ask about the Maginot line, how much of that is preserved? I believe that the prevailing narrative about the folly thereof is not quite right, and in fact the fortifications were of great tactical importance and consideration....
