Very nice - I do like the '30s look. Way above what I'd feel comfortable paying though, so I picked up a great LVC Menlo Cossack yesterday on EBay for just over £300.
It's a dark brown capeskin and will complement my ELC as a daily work jacket.

I almost bid on that one myself. Congrats on the "win"..

Thanks, John Lever gave me the heads up and I couldn't resist the BIN. I should get it on Tuesday.
Might need the sleeves tailored a touch, but I have an excellent local leather tailor who repairs/modifies MC leathers - excellent work and very reasonable.

Are you sure it's capeskin and not just plain sheepskin? I didn't see the listing, but I thought the Menlo jacket was just some generic leather.

Pretty much the same thing, to all intents and purposes Joel. It's probably sheepskin - although the one that I've seen is sturdier than shearling.
I don't imagine that 'cape sheep' are that much in evidence these days

I took delivery of my grommet zippered dark seal Japanese HH Heron this week and I couldn't be happier with it. It is a great contrast to my Good Wear Ventura as far as the fit and overall look goes. The hide is thick but pliable and it will take some time to break it in. I really do not like mirror pics but it will have to do for now until the weather breaks.

I replaced the repro slider with a 1930's Talon fantail.

Like it!...nice fit and you wear that style well. Looks like similar (wine color) Alcapa lining as in my Aero Stewart. Correct??

Thanks Van, it's a wine wool lining. It is pretty thick but very soft and not itchy.

It's a retro look. I dig it. Just hard for me to find jeans that long, hence the Iron Hearts. It's,actually cool and fits the period(s) they're shooting for. My mom used to hem my pants. lol

Allen, that's a lovely jacket, but I still think you look sharp as a tack in the Ventura.
If y'all were riding a Trumpet or Norton, you'd not hem your pants lol

Kensington

Went to Self Edge and got to handle the Kensington in size 38. The workmanship is exceptional. Unfortunately, for me, the pattern of that model does not fit my body type. The sleeves were too long and the shoulders were designed with too much angle, not for persons with square shoulders. The 38 fits like a Real McCoys 40 and although its a single café racer, the actual shape is noticeably different than the Buco J-100. Of note too is that the Kensington is thin and weighs noticeably less than the McCoys J100. 2K price point seems fair considering it is unique, refined for those who fit that cut, and comparable to high end jackets in the luxury department, IMO.

That's the one my son tried on (Hollywood?). It was an odd fitting piece.
