If you don't think there is a healthy profit margin in a $2300 - $2500 artisan jacket, you are living on another planet. Plenty of artisan makers are doing well in the $1100 - $1300 range, using Shinki and other fine leathers.Previous page in this thread has some discussion over profit margins and jacket production costs, particularly re: Himel. I think the post below captures what I'm responding to.
Just trying to point out we don't really know what the profit margin is, particularly because the overhead and operating costs vary between these makers significantly.
