Today I received a HillsideUSA jacket I had ordered 18 days previously. I purchased the Distressed Brown D Pocket jacket. My only complaint is the lack of communication with respect to shipping and delivery. They are difficult to communicate with in the sense that the email and phone calls basically go unanswered.

Glad to hear you are pleased with the jacket. Coincidentally, someone posted a google review this past week about Hillside stating that an email and 3 phone calls went unanswered after discovering an issue with their order. Sounds like they gave up. A few things I have noticed about Hillside:
-For a small business, their website is not very personal, ie no "About Us" section or any hint of who owns the business.
-Their Facebook page has not been updated since 2017.
-I found one video on Youtube and it reminded me of a TV commercial.

Compare this to Fox Creek, who has an active Facebook page, a number of Youtube videos, and a website that talks about their history and sourcing. The difference may be a reflection of each company's commitment to customer service and/or pride in their brand. I don't have ties to either business and don't own a piece from either.

I couldn’t agree more. Your criticisms are the same that I experienced. I wonder if a customer or potential customer has ever presented that feedback.
A FAQ page would be nice as well as your suggested “ About Us” page.
I posted a review of the jacket the day I got it and did receive an almost immediate ‘thank you’. My review was the newest in months/years.
Despite this shortcomings, I would still recommend their naked cowhide jackets.
I think for under $500 or in my recent experience a jacket under $400, only Foxcreek or Hasbro Leather (their cafe racer in particular , is stellar) has a jacket of commensurate quality.

another couple to consider in the $500 range....TRD Leather in Cleveland, Ohio, and Espinoza's in Rosemead, California. Both make products in-house and both get good feedback from their customers.
