Of all the images to use in the world at your disposal... Jake's ok in my book, just a less then desirable image to see when reading his posts, it's creepy.

I saw an exhibit of those peeled people recently fo reasons that I have completely forgotten... They did no tlook real to me, they looked like puppets made of maragarine and sandwich steaks. Very unpleasant.

My camera has been stolen and I cannot post pics of myself. Anyway, if you think that would be any less hideous... eek: )

I'll Remove My Scary Avatar After He Finishes His Testimony for the Government

When his Duty is done in accordance with his Admission of Guilt to Various Felonys; I'll cast about for another, perhaps more uplifting, hat wearing kinda' guy. Or maybe just another crooked lobbyist or politician. Plenty of time left. Jack has a lot of info to share with the Prosecutors and with juries. I hope and pray that the Domino Theory hold good here. :drum:

... Abramoff is an aberration. Most lobbyists trade in information, not bribes. BUT, the system IS broken and in desperate need of fixing. Unfortunately, the Senate bill will do very little. It mostly takes semiannual disclosures -- where nothing useful is disclosed -- and makes them quarterly.

Maybe this will get better when the House acts and when the bills are reconciled in conference. But the prospects for real reform are not good. (If you want to do something REALLY useful, ban lobbyists from contributing to campaigns. If the Senate bill were to become law, you couldn't buy a senator/representative a $5 lunch at McDonalds, but you could sponsor a $20k fundraiser in your office and spend any sum you want on food.)
