HELP, What Have I Bought ????

I recently bought this hat off ebay

The only description was:
Men's Vintage Retro Stetson
Fedora Black Hat Size 7 5/8

I wrote the seller twice asking for additional info but never got a reply.
So, I bought a PIG IN A POKE
Anyone want to take a guess on what it will turn out to be???

Looks not unlike a black Whippet ... you may be pleasantly surprised. I cannot wait to see a photo, might well have been a good move... ya' never know.

That could shape up to be a very nice fedora. At the price paid, you certainly could have found a bargain. It will be interesting to see the photos once you have it in your hands.

I don't know exactly what it is, but once you post pictures, I bet you'll get some expert advice. My two cents is (are?) this: it looks cool, and it looks old, particularly with that wide ribbon. The bash in the picture looks like pics and advertisements posted from the pre-ww1 era when the dress-looking hats had side (kinda like a cattlemen's bash) dents rather than a front pinch. I've got a stratoliner that looks just rumpled enough to have character. That's what I think that pic of your hat looks like. I'll look forward to pictures.

Even if it's modern, it can't be a bad deal at that price ... usually anything with the name "Stetson" goes for much higher.

SOFT LOOK

When I was trying to out-guess myself, I observed the following:
1) Soft open Crown Look ??? (or Cheap Wool )
2) Brim appears to be about 2.5" ??
3) Wide Ribbon
4) Bound Brim
Hey, with a 7 5/8's PUMPKIN HEAD I had to gamble

Looks like you bought a hat. With no more information than what the lister posted, it will be much like a grab bag. Good Luck
