HELP needed in getting a Perfecto jacket

Too bad there isn’t a try on option. Sleeve lengths can be fluid based on shoulder size. Fwiw I wear a 33 dress shirt sleeve and the 38 length is spot on.

The main issue with 613 is the sleeve length. If I'm not wrong, it measures around 24.5" on size 38, which isn't enough.

As for prices, Simmons is a clear winner in this regard. Their customisable 'Classic' biker jacket goes for £550 (= 620 euros), whereas 613 is in the range of 800-1000 euros when bought from European distributors. Aero is in a similar range.

Not quite sure what to do. I might have to write to Simmons for their measurements and continue stalking eBay.

I don't know where are you located but there are somes shops in the EU, such as zalando, where you can order a schott and send it back free of charge. Maybe you can try a 38.
I own 2 perfecto's, the steer 618 size 40 and the horsehide 618hh in size 38. I am 172cm tall, 75kg and 40' chest. The 38 is tight, the 40 is a nice relaxed fit. I can measure shoulder and sleeve length of both for you if you want.

My old 80s Pakistan-made double rider has very nice fine grain (I believe it's cowhide; I also attached some photos), i.e. the pores are really small and the 'furrows' or folds are almost unnoticable from distance. Is this the case only with naked / full-grain leather? Or did I simply get lucky with the hide used on the jacket? Furthermore, which sort of leather should I look for if I prefer finer grain? I really don't like the strikingly 'scaly'-type of look some leathers have, and the less obvious the folds are, the better (yes, I understand they develop over time, but still, you should get the idea).

have you decided on a brand? Most of the brands that you can go custom will send you samples of leather free of charge (extrapolating from a small patch of leather to a whole jacket is another story).

I'm leaning towards SB at this point due to their prices and location in Europe. They have a very large selection of leathers, though, so I guess ordering some samples first is the reasonable thing to do.

You got lucky. That is a very nice hide your jacket's made of - it actually reminds me of Fine Creek leather! - and somewhere in the near future, you'll discover that you are having a hard time finding a premium, super pricey leather jacket that'll have the kind of hide as some Pakistani cheapo which you really like.

I've had countless Pakistan/India/China perfectos and most were ranging from meh to horrid. One was made out of pigskin, which, coincidentaly, was among the nicer ones in the bunch.

However, there's one cross zip which I still have and won't ever sell, made out of this crazy nice, full grain leather. Full of natural scars, some parts are grainy, some have stretch marks but most are completely smooth. On top of that, the leather, which is like 2mm thick, has a brown core and just had the surface dyed so it's fading dramatically all over.

My point is, if you have a strong preference regarding hide, take your time and make sure you're getting what you are paying for. Pricier jacket does not guarantee better hide, as crazy as this may sound. You might just end up disappointed. I was. Many times.

Wanted to thank everyone for their input.

I ended up ordering a new Perfecto 613 in my own size, i.e 38, without sizing up (even though Schott generally recommends getting a larger size for 613/618), at the price of €800.

The shoulders are slightly 'restrictive' (as expected) but otherwise the fit is nice and quite comfortable, especially in the waist area, even with a woollen jumper on! The back length is also pretty much perfect and no issues with sleeve length (at the height of 6"). So all in all, I think I have finally found a great jacket for myself.
