Help HMH Pick His Summer Fedora(please)

Since my trusty Guinness straw fedora has become somewhat of a "beater" straw--I`m going to buy myself a new,higher quality straw fedora.So far I am leaning towards a Bailey Hats fedora.The Contestants:

BAILEY HATS:
"Roth" (2" brim)
"Masoner Panama" (1 1/2" brim)
"Monroe" (1 7/8" brim)
"Brooks Panama" (2 1/2" brim)

BILTMORE:
"Torino Aircool" (1 1/2" brim)

STEFENO:
"TLS Teardrop" (2" brim)

STETSON:
"Andover" (2 1/4" brim)

As you can see I`m partial to the stingy straw.A fedora-style medium brimed panama would be most practical for the season but I`m "shy" about larger brims.

I look forward to reading your opinions on these straws and maybe get a couple of other straw fedoras to consider.

I only have experience with the Baileys. So, in order, Masoner, Monroe, Brooks and Roth. But for sheer wow factor, the Monroe.

I have two Cutlers and they're great. I have a Stetson straw, but it's new and I haven't worn it, so I can't comment really.

I have two Biltmore Milans, but they're not in your lineup.

Either way, you've picked some winner hats. Good hunting.

If you're okay with stingy, I really like my Stetson Milan Latte straw. The bound brim took some getting used to, but it's a good shape, and soft. It also has a cloth sweatband that is very comfortable. I've got others, but I seem to be wearing this the most when it's hot. I've even got another on order in a different color for this summer. This part of California is pretty hot, so a good straw is a necessity. Good luck. Frank

Frank,you have just settled my Summer Straw dilema,sir. I LOVE the look(and price) of the Stetson Milan Latte and am going to make that hat my Summer 2010 fedora.Next time find yourself in my neck of the woods(or vice versa)we`ll have a bang up dinner on moi!
