Hello

I'm the new kid on the block so I thought that I would first say hello then...Buy everyone a round.

I'm 27 years old and live in Madison WI. I was in the Army for 6 years and now work for the State of WI. Very much into the retro lifestyle and love history. I've been a WWII reenactor for almost 3 years now. Did Civil War before that. I'm the webguy/artist for my unit and stay pretty busy with that. www.aresstudios.com is the website for our unit.

I'm a big fan of of all things pre-70. 1920s,40s,and 50s are my favorite decades. I love old cars, motorcycles, movies and vintage clothing.

My current project is refinishing a old Hoosier cabinet (turning into a bar/cocktail area). Also getting new furniture soon. Getting the girlfriend to realize that there is more styles than just COUNTRY for home decor. Minnow buckets and old wood belong in the garage not the house, I tell ya. She has joined in on my search for retro cool stuff and I love here for it. Anyways...

Now that I'm buying...What are ya drinking?

Welcome aboard

I think you'll find a lot of folks here eager to share their interests. Like MK said, stop by the WWII forum. What sort of impression(s) of WWII do you do? Here in New Orleans, I do early war US (as in my avatar) as well as British Airborne at the D-Day Museum.

I wish that I could get down to the D-day Museum. Must be nice to have that in your backyard.

Renderking Fisk,

I did Civil War for along time but stopped when I was in the military. Got out and went to a CW reenactment. Met some old friends that said they were starting doing WWII. I went to a event as a spectator and said I have to do this!

I contacted my buddy and I started the squad here in WI. We are in WI, IL, IN, and MI. Started buying the gear and fell right in.

Welcome, Brian.
As long as you're buying drinks, I'll have a Moscow Mule.
Since you are a fan of myriad things from the 1940's stop by the Golden Era section and add your two cents to the "Best of the Best" thread. Your favorite car of the time or anything would be interesting.
