Circa 1910..Chicago Hatter........LOVE the bawdy poem on the back!!!

he Was Not a Union Man.

"He tried me on the sofa,
He tried me on the chair,
He tried me on the window sill,
And could not do it there.

He tried me this and that way,
Oh! Goodness how I laughed,
To see in how many ways he tried,
To take my Photograph.

Asa local history buff, I love the ones in Chicago. This guy is actually not far from where the stockyards were. Meshes that it was a German neighborhood at the time.

Still 1924, I forgot a page...........

Actually, I have not.
Not sure how to go about that. Would need much better equipment than I have now ( I would need equipment, just use my phone now).
Most of these catalogs are around 30 pages too. Not sure what the market would be......
Hmmmmm..........
I’m sure copyrights were not renewed & have long expired (50 yrs). Self publishing can be pretty reasonable cost wise, but I have no idea what the market would be either.

Letter opener/ruler made by Whitehead & Hoag.

They made novelty items for a good many companies dating well back into the 19th century. They are most known for their pinback buttons (especially campaign buttons). I have at least two different Stetson pinbacks dating to the mid-1890's as well as those made for other hat companies.

Has anyone come across one of these (referencing this and the other ads that don't specify the source of the hat bodies)? What kind of identifying markings do they have in them?

I just snagged a "Made Over Hat" off the 'Bay that is devoid of manufacturer markings, but has a 2.5" brim with a decent crown height, seems to be 40s since it has no plastic tip liner and is an unreeded sweatband, and am wondering if maybe it is the product of this company. I almost blew by it because it's completely unbranded and the sweatband doesn't look high quality at first glance, but it was cheap enough that I figured I'd take a chance on it to see what the heck it is.

I'll post pics when it arrives and I have a chance to examine it in person.

No pictures as I ended up immediately returning it as it had a 1 7/8" brim instead of the 2.5" brim advertised. The sweatband was indeed unreeded, but felt like cheap leather from the 60s or later (which would track with the brim size). Felt was decent. Most definitely not one of these redone hats from the 40s though.
