A usual IPA, Surley Supreme, was perfect for a walkabout last night. Later I sat outside and enjoyed the cool weather and sipped a dram of Green Spot.

Jim Beam Black and Coke Zero with my HJ Indy hat. Got caught in the rain wrapping up a little get-together out here last night. I figure it defeats the purpose of having an Indiana Jones hat if you’re gonna run and hang it up at the first sign of a thundercloud.

This is me winding down after I finally got everybody out of my house. lol

Last night I enjoyed a Founders Porter. Just a dynamite go to Porter. Perfect in the cool weather. I wished to sit outside and enjoy the quiet cool night. I pulled a bottle of Balvenie Double Wood 12 out for the occasion. It was an excellent time to get reacquainted with the 11 years ten month oak cask and 2 months in a sherry cask. The initial taste had some sweetness and it faded as time went on. The sips of the whiskey were gentler than the nose. The fruit and nuttiness were prevalent in the cold evening air. Honey, chocolate and toasted oak were the finish. More oak than sherry on the finish. All together very enjoyable. I sipped it neat and will add a bit of water when I pull the bottle out again.

Amazing what adding a bit of water can do to a good whiskey at times.

Well it's been a long weekend watching other people's hats. I had foot surgery friday morning and have pretty much been laid up and immobile. Due to the pain killers, I was told no alcohol till Monday ( thinking I may need a new Dr lol). Finally hobbled outside this afternoon for a good cigar ( My Father Opulencia)and a bit of tequila ( tequila Ocho Reposado). Hat of the day is a recently rescued Penny's Marathon
