We were back in Oregon this weekend and stopped at favorite brewery to have their fresh hop IPA, it didn't disappoint. Wearing my Hemp OR.

While I haven’t posted a lot, I do continue to indulge. It was great to get a quality pour of Guinness a couple of weekends ago. Etsuko had a Yona Yona pale ale.

Etsuko was in one of her Toucan Collection hats.

Later on, at lunch…just a run of the mill Japanese beer. I don’t recall exactly what it was.

Today, I was grilling in my regular barbecue hot - the Akubra Cattleman, while sipping from a Margarita Etsuko made with fresh limes from our tree.

Followed up with a tasty Malbec.

Old Grand-dad bourbon.

I don’t often drink on a Monday evening, but this just arrived, and we were keen to have a taste…so, just the one. It packs a punch at 57%, but quite tasty.

After some respite from the heat and a day of straw, it’s another hot humid day, so back in straw…polypropylene straw, with my Akubra Capricorn.

Good evening. Home this evening I enjoyed a Surley Pilsner. I grilled some dinner (salmon and potatoes/onions). My after dinner enjoyment has been sipping a "wee bit" of Lahroaig Quarter Cask. I do like the taste of this whisky on a cool evening outside. I find it smooth, sweet (fruit) before the peaty taste. After sipping I can smell the peat when I take a big sniff of the evening air. Peat and no sulfer tonight.

Back in straw as temperatures get back over 30°C again.

We took a trip to Costco and Yamaya, one of the best bottleshops I’ve come across in Japan. We make a point of dropping in there when we go to Costco.

We also picked up some of the Lithuanian beer I’ve been enjoying recently. The lager, however, was a disappointment.

While cooking over charcoal on the shichirin, I made myself my first ever Old Fashioned. I suspect that I went a little strong on the bitters, but I have nothing to compare it with, so I really don’t know. I didn’t have any orange, so I added a twist of lime from our tree instead.

We cracked open the West Cork. I bought a bottle of their bourbon cask on a whim after seeing it on some police drama that Etsuko was watching on Prime video. We were pleasantly surprised, so thought we’d try another of their offerings. The double charred, is also a nice drop for the price.
