A thin ribbon Navy blue VS drew HH duty on this TGIF.

First up a couple of Breckinridge Brewing’s Christmas Ales. A holiday season warmer @ 7.1% ABV.

Closing out another TGIFHH for the books is a Great Divide Brewing Co’s Barrel Aged Hibernation Ale @ 11.5% ABV. Aged a min of one yr in whiskey casks (bourbon?) brings a whiskey (wine-like?) flavor up front with nuts & dark fruit (overripe pears & raisins?) & a slightly bitter taste mellows to vanilla & bittersweet chocolate. A seasonal treat when in moderation, I think.

Another one bites the dust.

I'm with you I prefer the non-Hazy IPAs, I think they have a cleaner, crisper taste. That can reminds of one around here.

When mom works late its dad's turn to cook, kids choice means dad's spaghetti is on the menu tonight. No cooking adventure is complete with out a beverage. Tonight I'm enjoying a Straight Outta Portland IPA from Migration Brewing, its a very good one. Wearing my BB 5X.

Then home for a few drams of Dalwhinnie 15 Malt on this Thanksgiving eve.

I am envious of your HH's Jack. Looks like a dandy time. Nutcracker, Hibernation and Dalwhinnis sound like excellent pre-Thanksgiving celebrations. Cheers sir.

I am boring again tonight as I have taken a walkabout sipping another Surley Supreme. This has become a regular beer for me. I am comfortable having a regular, but crave other beer options. Ahh, Thanksgiving we are hosting and as such it gives me lots of cooking chores, but potentially opportunities to open a bottle and sample. I enjoy Thanksgiving more than the other winter holidays.

Wearing this old JC Penney fedora and enjoying some apple cider with bacardi and buffalo rock ginger ale (a regional favorite...if you know, you know) while the turkey is in the oven. I've got some JD bottled in bond to enjoy with the apple and pecan pies later.

Followed an Ardbeg Wee Beastie with Caol Ila. The Wee Beastie is a little harsh for Etsuko. We added a couple of drops of water which mellowed it a little. The Caol Ila really hit the spot. It seemed less smoky (following the Ardbeg) and had some nice vanilla notes up front - again , most noticeable straight after the Ardbeg.

Today’s hat was a Lagomarsino nutria.

TGIFHH served under a BSHW heather blue short nap, starting with a few Icebergs (Cerveza Rita’s, Landslides, etc), then home for a bottle kill on some Siete Leguas Tequila Blanco.

Under a Gannon Highwayman for the afternoon with a few New Belgium Holiday Ales @ 7.5% ABV. Tastes of fried apples, molasses & All Spice I think. A touch of orange zest perhaps. Nice seasonal ale.

Closed out the evening with a KC Bier Co German Schwarzbier.

MNF in my moss Stetson Weekender, my work hat for the day, and a Yakima Breweries Collaboration, Frenz Giving Hazy IPA. The beer is good, the football game not so much, but such is life.
