A flight of newbies:
Martin City Brewing’s Belgian Abbey Ale 7.2% ABV
Mother's Brewing Co Three Blind Mice Altbier 5.5% ABV, which is not new to me.

True - so much whiskey, so little time. Fun to zoom in and identify bottles. That is quite a set-up!

Business travels the past couple weeks have me in and out of town and not posting. Here are some beverage pics.

Caribou LaManita, Surley pilsner and Guinness.

The usual suspects joined by a couple different pours.

Who knew that the little state of Vermont has more microbreweries per capita than any other?! Probably still not enough to get Jack to venture that far north, but check out “Next Trick Brewery!” F3B3E9B4-6F6F-4850-80AA-8D7A90BC1132.jpeg https://nexttrickbrewing.com/beer-descriptions
Then back to camp to settle in and watch the sun go down under a couple of beater lids, the brown being from “Panama Bob” during his clearance sale years ago. 4394285C-7929-45B1-83E4-4C6DE584DAAF.jpeg 45D9F852-7CDD-4578-8A03-BA2211789650.jpeg

Because of you and all the other hipsters there, Charlie. Grown a man bun yet?
The hipsters started coming when carpetbagger Phil Hoff lead the charge in the early 60's... This is NOT the Vermont I grew up in. I have had nasty run-ins with hipsters as recently as this summer, Greg. I may be too old for street fights, but still young enough to cause problems!

My man "buns" are still behind me, where they've always been...

This 1943 print ad for Paul Jones Whiskey should have your name on it, Eric.

I’d have to get in & out under the cover of darkness, Charlie. Reminds me of the lyrics from an old David Allen Coe song:

Grandpa I've been thinking about you lately
Wondering if you'd found your peace of mind
I guess you'd be proud to know your grandsons
Never crossed that Mason Dixon line
Because of you and all the other hipsters there, Charlie. Grown a man bun yet?
Man buns are so cute when they cover them with a condum during a rain.

It's almost plague like. We have our share here, especially in the Rocket City. Not the town I grew up in. Give em hell, Charlie.

Charlie amazing that Vermont has such a notorious claim. They must have a lot of beer lovers or perhaps visitors, like you. Googled and Vermont has 56, as of May 2019. 193 breweries and microbreweries in Mn as of April 5, 2021. I do not add this as a "competition," but as a curiousity. This morning I am shocked my state of primary residence, MN, has a lot of brews. Either I have to get going and sample more or I need to get more discriminating. Hmmmm.

I tip my hat brim in your direction this morning Jack. Generally I stay away from airport drinking, but my last flight coming back from Florida last week had a painfuly long wait and I indulged. No pics as I felt guilty and was wary as I was avoiding folks I knew, any prying media and the like. A draft of Funky Buddha Breweries barrel aged Void Shaker Stout. The 11% abv is aged in bourbon barrels and is a dynamite Imperial Stout. This full bodied beer was the perfect beer to sip and relax in a secluded booth.

Very interesting that Vermont holds that title, I've had some good beers in my few north east and New England travels but I always figured some western state would hold that title. I'll have to find a reason to make it to Vermont someday. :)
