Drinking a Lager that's as American as Western hats, while wearing my Knox American Royal.

That's a new one to me. Enjoy & I look forward to your thoughts. Enjoy the holiday drams!
I like Natterjack, not as strong a flavor as Jameson or Bushmills. My first few glasses it was just really smooth and subtle. This time it came across a little different which could be whatever I ate or drank before I had it. Not bad at all just a little different than it seemed previously. Cannot remember what I did. Could be because it has opened up some from having been opened for a few weeks.

The past couple of evenings I have been enjoying the "milder" weather by being outside. Last night I sipped a Founders All Day IPA and of course for morning coffee - Brazilian single source coffee.

A beef roast is ready for a sumptuous repast. I have been sipping a Founders Breakfast Stout during my ministrations to the meat. No pics as my device needed a charge.

Jack I have read a lot about the Arbeg's you picked up. Do they deliver?

Cheers to you and family sir.

Morning porter as I cook up a chook on the barbecue this Christmas morning. My barbecue hat is an Akubra Cattleman. View attachment 390455

Looks like a tasty beverage. I saw in a different thread your food - man that looks delicious.

Friday evening I sipped a couple Omni Pilsners sharing dock time with the neighbor. Our docks are up on land and we sat on his dock and shared beers and watched the night descend in our neighborhood.

This morning I am grilling brats (buffalo/beef), cabbage and onions for a breakfast. A Founders Porter is my grilling beverage.

Cheers, Eric -

Thanks, Eric. The Tokyo Black is excellent, as are most of the beers from Yaho Brewing.
The chook turned out nice and juicy. I’ll probably try the bacon tomorrow. I’ve only done the homemade bacon a few times and only with a salt cure. I highly recommend making your own, though. Easy to do and really good. I’ve just ordered some Prague powder to do a proper cure. I also want to try curing a ham for Christmas next year.

Good whiskies are all special; like the golf clubs in your bag, they all have their speciality & do something different. I think I will eventually settle in with a good selection of Speysides & a good selection of Islay's.

I think my must have Islay's are Lagavulin 16, Ardbeg Uigeadail, & Ardbeg 10. There is certainly nothing wrong with the Lagavulin 8, Ardbeg Corryvreckan & Wee Beastie, & Laphroaig Quarter Cask from time to time & when out on sale. Uigeadail & Corryvreckan are at similar price points & probably won't go on sale often, so I chose Oogie first every time.

After one session with the NAS An Oa I would say it's a touch hotter than Wee Beastie & a bit sweeter due to the Pedro Ximénez sherry, with a long lingering smoky aftertaste. The tongue burn & hotter aftertaste goes away after you anesthetize. It's smokier than the 10 but the 10 is much smoother than either Wee Beastie or An Oa. And the An Oa costs more then the 10. An Oa also has a Cinnamon, Oak & vanilla taste to it. So I'm thinking Wee Beastie & An Oa have their place from time to time, when found on sale.

Merry Christmas to you & family!
