Hats and Drinks - A Match Made in Heaven

I toured through the Blair Athol distillery back in 2007:

Some notes from the tour:

What struck me most was just how peaceful and serene everything was. Many of the buildings were covered in ivy, and a stream ran through the grounds. I only saw a handful of personnel.

The storage sheds containing 15,000 casks were cool and quiet. Some of the barrels were dated 1968.
Sounds like a great tour. I can't imagine an aging 39 yr old Cask still waiting to be bottled.

I'm in need of a drink. I spent 3 hrs today in line at the DMV, with my VS.

Good hat, Jack.
Oddly enough, here in backward West Virginia we have DMV Kiosks. You can transact renewals, plates, etc. at ATM type booths at Kroger, Sheets gas stations etc.
Weird this place.

That would certainly warrant a drink, or a few!

I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, bottoms up brother
Thanks guys. Part of the problem is that all state DMV's were closed for I don't know how long. At the same time the state is going to a new driver's license to meet federal passport requirements by Jan 1. If you don't renew & have a new driver's license by then you can't fly on any commercial airlines.

Anyway, Wood Hat's Aged Blue Corn Whiskey is taking care of my immediate problem.

That's mighty swank, Jack, almost enough to tempt me to deal with the Hoover traffic.
If that was located near where I live I would be so tempted. I'm not really into the whole Lucite era but I do like some MCM stuff. Can you imagine that bar with tiny LED lights in the bottom of those bottle holders? I can hear Dean Martin on the Hi-Fi now.

It would definitely look cool with some lights. Is it on the facebook trading? Craigslist? Hoover is a little less than 20 miles from me....but it's about a 2 hour drive....the traffic over there is the worst

Snapped this to share with @Hurricane Jack but figured I'd just slide it in here since it sort of fits the theme.

Here's a couple of my old Stetsons with my moonshine jug collection in a hundred year old cabinet I recently picked up.

Now that is cool!

Brunch with a Guinness. Pasta Carbonara with tomato, spinach and herring. Delicious with a stout beer.
