By the way, I'm drinking Glenmorangie 10 yo with a Don Pepin Garcia "Original" Toro Gordo cigar (rolled in the USA).

I'm wearing a Chippewa Boots ball cap. Not a great hat by FL standards, but a nicely embroidered cap. Chippewa are some of my favorite boots.

I've got a lot of hillbilly and redneck in me I guess.

I'll download a picture in the next day or so. It'll be my first FL picture.

Ernest Hemingway's famous quote, "Never Delay Kissing a Pretty Girl or Opening a Bottle of Whiskey," gives us guidance. Looks tasty. I read a couple on-line reviews, shortly ago, and I am seeing agreement on good value, richness and balance. I have added it to the Memo titled Whiskey, on my phone.

Congrats on the pre-order. I am reading on-line about the whiskey and availability. I imagine expectations should be high. The reviews I am reading, praise it highly.

A lighter beverage for me went with the euphoria that I feel when done with the yard chores. I am sipping a Founders All Dap IPA from the beer frig. When I opened that beer I put it in front of all the others and I am too tuckered to reach any farther back. Did I mention I like the taste.

My cap needs to dry out and I changed into a panama and made a cup of black tea. This is my first making tea from a brick of black tea. This brick is made from leaves.

Bricks of tea were easy to trek and used as currency. I read how the tibetens used the bricks. I am trying their method (toasting, grinding, and whisking) to make tea. I toasted outside on the grill. I am really glad I did this as it is very aromatic.

When I was in Tibet, years ago I drank the "Yak tea" and it tasted great after days of big effort. I am making some for the morning. I have tea, broken from the tea brick, and am boiling, for 4 hours in water, with salt added. In the morning the concentrated tea infusion I will mix with butter, star anise, cream and a little salt to make butter tea, Po Cha.

We will see if my memory meets reality tomorrow.

A question Jack; Is Longmorn 16 worthy to start a Lonmorn tasting journey? Longmorn 16 is on sale at my local. I have been watching the Whiskey Review on You Tube after having read a couple of reviews. I am intrigued, but I am not yet confident to plunge towards the high dollar aged offerings of Longmorn.

Not familiar with whatever bottling you are looking at on the 16. Longmorn is one of the major Single Malts used in Johnny Walker Black, Chivas Regal, & Pinch blended Scotch. That's one of the reasons it can be hard to get. I think Chivas Bros or Diego currently owns the Distillery.

Longmorn tends to be very wine-like. Oily with notes of dried fruit. No peat smoke. Not tart but not sweet. Only you can decide it that's what you like or not.

As always it just depends on when & how you drink it. As I've said before, to me after a good beef steak nothing beats a smoky Islay Scotch with a heavy peat flavor. After fish or fowl you would probably prefer a lowlands or maybe a Campbelltown Scotch. If you enjoy drinking a Scotch several hrs after a meal when you probably have a clean palate, perhaps just before bedtime then maybe one of the Highlands is best suited for the occasion. And if you drink cocktails, OTR, or neat all has an influence on your enjoyment too. It takes time & its fun to experiment & learn the experience.
