Knox topper & box (not mine).
We Have Hat boxesSorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but anyone here know a good EU based place to buy a hatbox?
I guess we will have to wait and see…..You think that's a collapsible opera hat tucked in the other side of the case? The description only mentioned the one hat but it clearly seems like there are two in that case.
I bought this damn item in an auction that closed on September 9th. To my recollection they never contacted me about shipping the item. I ultimately contacted them several times. This morning I finally got them to admit they have no record of ever having shipped the item. I actually do not believe this is a true statement, as they also asked me if they had called me to discuss shipping by a different carrier to save on shipping, which call I have no recollection of.
Yeah, I didn't post about this one. Someone else just posted a cool hat that they saw online. No worries there. This was a very cool item. The guy that owned it was a big-time lawyer, and it is very possible this was a hat that he actually bought to wear for some hoity-toity function or other, which possiblity also making it very likely that this could have been a larger/largish size hat.…and that is why I never posted a auction win until I had it In hand. There are a lot of cut-throats in the hat collecting business….

They supposedly have no record of ever having shipped the item nor do they have the item in their possession.
They refunded me my money 2 seconds after I got off the phone.
I'm pi ss ed. Either someone is incompetent, and they shipped my hat to the wrong person, or someone stole my hat.
This was to have been my first, and probably only top hat. If I had wanted my damn money back I wouldn't have let these as shats borrow it for a month.
Thank you for sharing. When did your hat arrive?Ah, oddly enough I may have the answer to this. I also bid and won a lot from this auction, and they did call me to discuss shipping through a different carrier as it was more expensive than they anticipated through USPS Ground Advantage. I said sure check out the third party you use that uses UPS and if it's more than like $15 difference great, but if it's only a couple bucks difference just send it USPS.
I got an email that they shipped it that night with a tracking number, but no receipt for payment of the shipping charge. I was digging through my credit card statement to verify that I had been charged for the Stratoliner I posted about in "What hat are you waiting for" and noticed that I didn't appear to have been charged for shipping for the box from this auction. So I replied to the email I had received with the tracking information and said "hey, I think maybe you forgot to charge me" but never heard anything back and then sorta forgot about it.
I just looked and it appears perhaps that email address was not one I could reply to, and I still don't seem to have been charged for shipping... so I guess I ought to give them a call and mention it to be a good citizen. Perhaps they rang your card for my shipping? That wouldn't explain what they did with your lot though, so who knows. Maybe they mixed up the lot numbers somehow when they shipped mine so they are looking for the wrong one when they looked for yours?
As a side note, the Stratoliner I mentioned showed up, even though I was a little worried due to the seemingly shady lack of a paper trail after I won it. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that a lot of these auction houses seem like they may just be small time operators (hence the abysmal picture taking ability, often just displaying one shot of the exterior of a hat) doing their best and occasionally they make mistakes or things slip through the cracks.
I checked my account. I only have two transactions from this entity; the first where I paid my invoice and the second today when they refunded my money.Ah, oddly enough I may have the answer to this.
