Hat noob - advice for beginner

Firstly, great forum this - very helpful.

Fear I'm bitten by hat bug. But want some tips on styles for someone my size.

Im 6'4", packing a few pounds, but not fat, more tree trunk stuff (!!) Think front row rugby player, or the big fellas on US football... big squareish, roundish face too.
Got an Akubra Cattleman on its way to me, having tried one on a while back and been happy with it.
The thing is, reading on here, I'm now toying with idea of going for a Fedora, most prob a Fed.

Any thoughts on best hat styles for the big bloke I am? I hear wide brims work well, but to be honest, looking for something smaller, slightly smarter (besides, the cattleman will be the work hat for doing the garden, or hiking in)

Clothes wise, I'm not really a trenchcoat guy, usually in casual jackets, tshirts and jeans with boots.
Any thoughts?

Indycop is a good one to listen to. I know he has several pictures in the "What hat are you wearing today" thread, and elsewhere. He's a pretty big guy, and wears big hats that don't look silly-big. He'd be a good visual reference for you, I think.

There's a few of us, the population of the USA is higher, so the ratio, proportionally is probably right.
I probably see 2-3 people a day on the tube (I wear one every day).

There are a few other places as well (Bates, Locks, Hat Centre etc) in London.

By the way, I'm 6' 2" and about 16 1/2 stone, I prefer high crowns and wide brims.
