HAT ADORNMENTS: ribbons, bows, pins, pugs, leather, etc.

While at Buckaroo Hatters today, I noticed this hat with an extra thin ribbon.

Mike then gave me a better look at the hat.

Then he gave me a glimpse of his hidden stash!!!
I have to say one ply was not common for me to see!

Stetson used to like to use one ply on their hats in the 50's........I have a few. But not seen much anymore......

This is a 3X Beaver Mid-Late 50's.

I received some ribbon from Mike yesterday at Buckaroo and made myself a new ribbon and bow for this straw.
I put a vintage pin and a new Montana Silversmith tooth pick on it.
Turned out pretty good I think!

Earlier in this thread I posted a new (old) eagle hat pin (wondering what hat to put it on).

Later I posted a picture of my 1889/99 Campaign hat in response to a question about campaign bows.
(Which got me to get the hat out and freshen it up).

Then Yesterday I find the two of them hanging out together........it all turned out well I think!

Picked up a couple of hats for their hatbands from an online auction 60 miles from me.

The gray Resistol 3X had a leather band with five 1-3/4” x 1/2” sand-cast silver conchos each with a small turquoise stone.

The leather was brittle and just a bit short so will be replaced.

The tan Stetson Billy Kidd had a leather band with ten 1-1/8” x 9/16” and ten 1/2” x 1/2” silver stamped conchos.

The band is long enough to work on my hats.

There were a couple other pins on the Resistol.
