The winter seems never to end here in Chicago, so I bought myself some daffodils at the market the other day. They weren't open yet and the checker rung them up as green onions--for 99 cents. Ha! I did not correct her.

As I was reading this topic again, I grabbed my camera and...

Two straight weeks of snow in Prague, that´s something I haven´t seen for at least three years. And more and more is coming! Now I really feel I have to buy some good looking shoes with at least a shadow of a winter sole.

Thanks for that picture Carter, it was just what I needed. More snow predicted for Boston tomorrow and Monday (sigh) but it was near 60 degrees on Friday so Spring can't be too far off.

We've had a big temperature shift the past few days. 84 on Thursday to 43 today. But, as they say, SPRING is about to be SPRUNG !

We had 60 degrees on Friday but the forecast for tonight into tomorrow is 15 inches-PLUS of snow. And it's 20 degrees outside right now

AARGH!

When we went back to close on our home all the redbuds were in bloom. I had tons in my backyard. My grandbaby loves anything pink. I had her convinced those trees just bloomed for her. lol

In like a lion

March is coming in like a lion here in the Northeast. Here at my office we might as well have windows painted over with white paint, that's how heavily the snow is blowing out there. A lot of people didn't even bother to come in. At least a foot has fallen since last night. They say it will go away fast. Let's hope.

Oh, I just love daffodils!! They are one of my favorite flowers! They haven't bloomed here yet. I'm waiting impatiently! My tulips are starting to peek out of the ground though. And I can't wait for the crab apple blossoms!!
The squirrels around here sure think it's spring. I saw a pair yesterday that were "in the mood for love."

The huge irises are going nuts at my new home. I am ecstatic and these are just a few. The amaryllis I brought from Texas. I am hoping someone knows the purple flowers as I have no clue. A vine type with large (about 3 to 4 inches across) flowers. Just lovely aren't they?

Foofoogal, those flowers are all beautiful - the purple flowering vine is a clematis of some kind. They are gorgeous in flower. There's a lot of varieties of clematis in a whole range of colors but that looks like one called 'The President' I think. No promises on that part though, but it's definitely a lovely clematis.

Around here people grow them on trellises and up lampposts, and they play nicely with other flowers, unlike some vines like honeysuckle, so you can combine their colours with other things.

thank you. I was thinking some sort of clematis also. I think the middle looks alot like the passion flower. I will check out the name you suggested.

A hummingbird, I assumed? Probably a good deal more attractive near your hyacinths than the vehicle, too.
