Looks like a good job and fits the style you requested. I have gone the turkish barber route before but it has been a hit and miss. Yes, they can do short back and sides but there were some problems like an irregular fade line or shaved higher around one ear than the other...

I now have a "rockabilly" barber who is not as cheap as the turks but also not £45 (wtf?) and I get what I pay for.

If it was thicker I could say sure, the sides work but your beard is thicker around your jowls, bald over your ears and patchy on the sides, but hey each to their own right. You are a handsome young ****er, I'm sure the ladies are shooting you come hither glances, go hard and burn brightly.

Looks great BK! I personally go for a bit more "point" in the back, then soften it up with tapering. I do mine myself, and it's takes some time but well worth it. The problem is it literally grows back in about 5 days.

This my typical cut, has been for years:

There are a lot of Rockabilly guys with this style of haircut, not sure how that works, seeing as the style is 20+ years before Rockabilly. What happened to the Elvis-via-Tony Curtis look etc? Anyway, the sides and back of my hair are tapered down to a number 1, at the top it is long enough to reach my eyes when combed forward.

Thank you Scotrace! It takes some time & effort to work with a barber to get just what you want ( just like with tailors lol). I used to go to barber a few years back who was skilled but always cut a couple of inches of the front of my hair even when I'd specifically asked him not to. After a few months I just got sick of it and had to find a new hair artist to work on!
Off topic: Funny how when you get older you turn into your father; at least that's what those photos are showing me.

Quite true Benny. My old barbers always chopped too much off the front for my liking. So now I simply do it myself. Takes some time as I am careful, but I always get the haircut that I want now. :D
And I tend to cut it just like my dad would have done.

Got a fresh haircut yesterday after waiting too long (more than a month) and it feels so good. I even believe it makes an significant difference not only in appearance but also how you feel.
With the hair touching my ears and collar I looked rather tired and a little confused. Now I feel all fresh and sharp again.

http://www.dererstezug.com/GermanHaircut.htm A good example of the European or German haircut from the 1940's.
Not a good idea if you live in germany. The barber might throw you out and rightly so.;)

I also like the feel after haircut, I guess being refreshed could have something to do with air going thru your scalp. In winter your ears will remind the coldness of air after losing hairy shield :D

I've used that German haircut guide, or one part of it.. I guess in the name of correctness you have to blur pictures so uniforms vanish and you are good to go. Alternatively people should watch few old movies and take screen captures or surf internet for those pics. Right picture says more than a thousand words. :D

I have always struggled with a "vintage" hairstyle. I never knew how to part my hair or what type of product to use. I finally went to the barber and told him what I wanted; he was helpful and I think he did a pretty good job. Thoughts?

Ok guys, I am having a terrible time with a cowlick in the back. I can get my hair perfect but low and behold that damn cowlick throws everything off. Any suggestions? I have tried to gel it down to no avail
