"Corona" "Deutsche Wertarbeit" possibly 1930s. The black Velour is fantastic and easily dry creases. I really like the unique liner design. There is no paper label and no company mark. I believe it could be the same company that made my "Neuheit" "Spitzenklasse" "Extra Fein" Velour.

That is a beauty alright, Steve. Nice find. And the liner is unlike any I've ever seen: lovely.

Really interesting "Corona". What I like is the black color of the velour. Fantastic!

Glad that you have your Corona now.
Looks good on you and suites you perfect.
Georg, nice hat. I had a Mayser Kadett in the past too and it was in a good quality.

This Anton Peschel velour fedora came today. For $21.00 plus $3.99 shipping I couldn’t pass it up. Seller said it was 7 3/8 but it’s 7 5/8. 2 5/8 brim in excellent shape. Hoping some of the German experts can enlighten me.

Thank you M, I’ll keep that in mind. It does fit a little better than I anticipated. I know I’ll hang on to it for at least a bit so I can run my fingers thru it...it’s amazing velour felt ..at least it is to me.

Great find and deal! It was made by Anton Peschel Dinkelsbühl, West Germany for the American market. Most of the hats made for the American market were Trachten styles so less common to see a Dress style. My guess is it was made in the later 1950s and the overall quality is very high. Anton Peschel up to WWII was located in what is today Nový Jičín, Czech Republic (up to WWI Neutitschein, Austria after WWI Nový Jičín, Czechoslovakia and was a major center for Austrian Velour production). Anton Peschel Neutitschein made some of the finest Austrian Velour hats. After WWII all hat factories were nationalized as Tonak. The factory was closed and the Peschel family and many of the workers were expelled. In 1950 the Peschel family opened a factory (on a much smaller scale) in Dinkelsbühl, West Germany. You can read / see more at my website.

Thank you sir, I had no doubt you could provide the answers / information on this fedora. I appreciate your knowledge and passion. It is very clean, looks new and unworn. I usually don’t have this kinda luck.
