It looks really fantastic! I am especially partial to the old metallic gray Velours. I am thinking an Austrian source. Is the Velour nap clockwise? Thanks for posting the additional photos.

This arrived today.

2 inch brim, felt is really nice. Not as long of a nap as the velour on my Lembert, more like my hairy finish Lock & Co. that I wore today. It's light weight, and other than needing a steaming, brushing and general TLC is in great shape.
Any insights into vintage or anything else noteworthy would be appreciated.

No problem...I was standing at a vintage fair on Sunday and an older lady came to the stall with her daughter.
She was obviously a wise old bird and very chatty and gushing over the hat, she promptly popped it on her head at a jaunty angle adjusted it a little and bought it there and then.
she had on a mixed greys fur coat and had short hair it complemented and suited her perfectly!
Turns out she was a hat and shoe model in the 1960's......that lady was rocking that hat!

It's a very nice Trachten hat. I think you are correct about the felt / finish. It's a latter P. & C. Habig Wien so could be 1980s maybe mid to later 1970s. I can't see all the numbers and lettering on the paper label.

I agree on the dating. It has a great look and is in super condition.

Now I see what you mean about Habig making quality stuff up till the end.
Btw, what is the name for this type of finish?

It might be classified as Flamand which is an unshorn Velour.

1930's "Echt Rockel" brown Velour. Size 56 cm.

Thanks! The Hückel has a white liner with a very worn down and oxydized Hückel Logo.
Because of the bad condition I removed the liner and put it in a plastic cover.
