Panos, Fantastic! It's Seal Velour like. I can't make out if there is anything below the main liner mark. Really like the bow design and form. I checked the only other dark green JHS hat I could think of and the Fabre (F) is 768 so in the same number range (your Jota F 738).

J.Hückel´s Söhne "Prima"

Thank you Steve! I have the impression that it reads "Standard" but I'll need to check again when back. Great detective work! I think Stefan has one too (probably not dark green though and a platin, but I might be wrong).

Panos, I was thinking it might be under the main JHS logo. Sometimes the script fades away.

Good memory! It's Farbe (F) 733 so in the same range.

What about the Green sheep? ;)

This is the other "black" velour that came with (thanks Matt!)

JHS "Standard", "Jota" velour in dark green. Shorter nap and lighter felt than its pair. Slightly smaller overall proportions too. From the components possibly a cheaper everyday hat (more worn too) compared to the W/end/Sunday black one (I suspect they originally belonged to the same person, engraved initials suggest so too). Probably early to mid 30s View attachment 473587 View attachment 473588 View attachment 473589
Green velour: the black sheep of the velour family :D! The prodigal son still gets welcomed back into the fold of course!

Vinzenz Nohel "Osiris", 56 cm, possibly late 1940s early 1950s. Vinzenz Nohel Hair Hat and Stump Factory Amstetten, Austria was owned by J. Heinrich Ita, Vienna. I always wondered why Amstetten was listed as a location in J. Heinrich Ita Catalogs and on some their Hat Logos so this solved the mystery. This is a great short clipped Velour that easily dry creases. The Paper Label format and design is very similar to early J. Heinr. Ita Wien paper labels so this hat could be older. The sweatband doesn't have any markings so possible it was added later but I can't find any evidence (everything appears original).

Stefan, Panos, Thank you! I found some background information on Vinzenz Nohel Hair Hat and Stump Factory Amstetten / J. Heinr. Ita Hat Factory Vienna and I posted it on my website. There is a connection with England (Aylesbury, London) that I need to look into.

After the presentation of the hats acquired in the lot, a "mysterious" black hat of German origin remains to be photographed and identified, we begin the series of "singles"
Durit esterno scatola.jpg
First of all, I consider myself lucky because the hat arrived in its original box with address and date August 18, 1933.
Durit indirizzo scatola.jpg
The box has signs of time, but it is here and I thank
Durit 7.jpg

Huckel "Durit" size 5 1/2 or 58 centimeters or 7 1/4 in the US sold in Toulouse - France.
Durit 9A.jpg
Felt has a very shiny short nap, is thick and malleable.
Durit interno.jpg
Unlined and finished well, it has a 2feeling" very appropriate to the years in which it was made
Durit 6.jpg
It arrives in Verona in excellent condition, perhaps a few small stitches on the back seam have melted, otherwise it has an "almost" new look, especially the interior which seems very little worn
Durit etichetta carta.jpg
The paper label identifies its characteristics and I leave the comments on the hat to Steve, the supreme connoisseur of the subject
Durit 9B.jpg

The measurements are as follows: the brims are at 6cm and the ribbon rises at 5.5cm, the fully open crown is 15cm high.
I don't have many Huckel hats and this time too the size is giving me away.

Daniele, Fantastic! Really great that it came with original box that is date stamped. The "Durit " Velour looks superb. It has a JHS Soft Felts Post WWI Type 7 paper label. What is interesting is there is a J. V. on the paper label which could be "Jota Velour". Sometimes there is conflict like this so I need check for others. Here are some other JHS Soft Felts with the same paper label type for comparison.

Accidentally I came across an interesting velour hat in dark-blue. The velour is much shorter than on my Mayser Orion. The Brim is only about 5cm, the crown height 10. At some point, there must have been a clip in the inner, to sharpen the center crease, because this edge is unusually sharp. The bow needs to be stiched again and maybe some ironing.

Although I'm not a fan of this type of hat, I bought it because of the interesting inner label, that says "Der Modehut" (and "leicht & elegant") which I found very funny to see as a brand name. Also the sweat band is unreeded. Size is a bigger 57 estimated by the fit on my head.

I am undecided whether this is pre war or post war. The small brim says post war to me. But as I recently learned, especially no-name hats in the late 30s (and the hat above seems to be some kind of no-name) could sometimes look really post warian (is that a word? : D). I added parts of the catalogue of the Renner-Mall in Dresden from 1939.

Great find! Later 1930s early 1940s is a good guess. Short brims were always around. There are many examples here. "Mode Hut / Fashion Hat" was used all the time. Does it have a paper label?

Steve, no, it’s glued in.
Brent, I am not sure who made it. At the moment "HCA" doesn't ring a bell. I think it's post unification so maybe 1990s. I will do some checking.

Update: "HCA" is Hat Company of America so post 2004. Still not sure who made it. Could be Mayser or Wegner.

The thing is, they can't really be seen in real street scenes or movies. So I'm always a bit doubting. Unfortunately there's nothing more inside of the hat!

What is the brim width? 2 inch to 2 1/4 inch were common. What movies and street scenes?
