Johann Hückel´s Söhne Super Sport Alpine style hat. This is one is an old and very rare. Robert (RLK) found it a while back and alerted me. I didn't bid on it because of the small size and very high starting price but I thought it was worth posting. It has to be at least 1930s maybe older. Not sure who ended up with it.

This is a nice hat, Y like all alpine, look fine.

I was tempted to buy it as a collectors piece (size 54cm) but they were asking too much (189,00 EURO) and all bids were declined. All the Alpine / Trachten hats that I have encountered are from the 1950s or later. This is the first old one (my guess 1930s maybe older) I have encountered and a JHS Super Sport Velour to boot.

Mayser Hut Seidl Homburg

Light to medium brown, size 58cm and near new condition. Sweatband date stamped 12/27/58. Hut Seidl Munich had a direct relationship with Mayser so this is some type of custom model. This is my new first place Homburg.

Peschel Velour

Peschel Velour, Size 58, late 50s early 60s.

I got this one for about $10.00. Looked like a wreck but I knew it was a nice Velour.

Another fine one in better shape than it appeared. I guess you can never have too many brown hats[huh](me too)

Thanks! It does have a nice brown tone to it. There is one small scuff mark but other than that the velour is in decent shape. What is interesting is the sweatband doesn't have the Peschel mark or it wore off.

P. & C. Habig

P. & C. Habig, Brown, Size 60cm but measures 61cm (7 5/8), 2 1/2 inch brim and 5 inch crown creased. Very nice felt, liner and unique sweatband. I am thinking late 1970s to mid 1980s. Might have had some Mayser input.

Hans Baumgärtner Velour

Black velour, measures 59cm, crown 5 inches creased, brim 2 1/8 inch. The ribbon is from Optimo. Slick, shiny, very pliable old style velour.

Ernst Köln

Light brown with Antelope finish. Size 60cm, brim 2 5/8 inches, 5 inch crown creased. This one has a really nice finish and is in NOS condition. Ernst Köln was a men's store in Köln so not sure of the maker.

Wegener Homburg

Black, size 59cm probably early 1960s. All around super high quality and in great condition. Wegener detail work is some of the finest I have encountered.
