Since the Matterhorn is a Swiss mountain, it could be a Swiss brand.
Interesting: "Wastl" is the short, cute version for Sebastian.
Very often used for small Dachshund dogs; especially in the Alpine regions

Mayser "Stella Steif Federlicht / Stiff Feather Light" made for Huthase / Hat Hare, 58cm, 155 grams, possible 1930s. I was lucky because I noticed there was a lot of padding behind the sweatband. Also figured it was made by a high quality company which also turned out to be correct. This is a really fantastic Fur Felt (Haar.filz) Stiff Felt made by Mayser Ulm. I really like the dimension and form. The sweatband leather is especially nice and the fit is perfect. Huthase had stores in Dresden, Chemnitz, and Leipzig.

WOW....those straw beavers are the rarest of all.....I understand the regular beavers keep eating them, thereby keeping the population low....

While I was having fun with the "beaver straw" (I thought that was a company designation, I have seen some funny hat names) I DID totally miss it was a straw felt combo.....and the fact that you put it together is well....just awesome! I looked at your pictures much more closely and you did a great job! You definitely have a one of a kind.....and it is cool! Reminds me of the two tone felts which I like.....nicely done!
