Wow, Steve, jaw-dropping, especially the two bowlers. Great finds as usual.

Steve, Thank you. The first Stiff Felt doesn't belong to me. It belongs to Hat Museum of Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe. The other hats I have had for a while. I am in the process of cataloging the different Mayser Paper Label types. Unfortunately these are the only earlier examples.

Thanks for the overview, Steve. Great work. For the rest of it you have a way to go I think: quite the prolific producer, Mayser.

Echter Mayser Flaum. It's a quality designation meaning something like "fluff"; not quite a chamois finish but not your everyday felt either. Lightweight hat at 88 grams and unlined in a size 57, with the bound brim at 6,3 cm and the crown 10,5cm at the center dent. This is one of those hats I bring along thinking I can make it work for me with a cork spacer between the sweat. Doesn't work that way for some reason (damn); I really like these lightweight hats.

Hückel Welheim Chevreau. Size 57 with the bound brim at 6,3cm and crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. This one has lost its feather (it was no more than a stalk when I found it). This must have been a good seller for Hückel because these turn up on a regular basis (Steve has several of them) in a few variations and finishes. This one is too wide for me (and I already have one of them) but it's too good a hat to not bring it along.

Two magnificent German hats Stefan, but my preference goes far to Huckel Chamois;)

Stefan, Both are great finds. You are right about the number of HWs in this form + dressing. They really pumped them out. I am wearing a similar HW "Special" today (writing this on a fligt to Salt Lake City). Steve and NewJack have liner Mayser Flaum models but all 3 are different so will have to take a closer look.

Steve, thank you. I'm not quite sure if the "flaum" quality refers to the weight or the finish of the hats.

Interesting question, Stefan. Flaum ought to mean some kind of flush or fluffiness. Your Mayser neither seems one nor the other, though it does seem plush. How does it feel to touch? I hope Steve can answer re the Mayser designation.

Hello everyone! I have this amazing Brüder Böhm hat, and I am very curious about it. I think it was imported by the Copenhagen company Crome and Goldschmidt, hence their marks. I bought it in Sweden. When was it made and what is the model called? Thank you in advance!
